My Blissful Heaven

Hello all! This is my first post, not only as an Authentique Design Team member, but as a Design Team member period! I'm so excited that I've been given this opportunity and if I can inspire just one person, well then my day has been made. :)

For my project today, I have created a layout using the Blissful line.

I have to admit, this is probably the second time I have scrapped a picture that I didn't take or that didn't have one of my own cuties in it, but when I saw this picture from my friend I knew that I needed to scrap it with the Blissful line. I absolutely LOVE the pops of pink in this collection.

I used the plain gray side of the Foundations that come with the Blissful line and cut it into the shape I needed. Then, I hand stitched around the edge to make it stand out more, since I didn't want to ink the edges of this sheet. I cut out some of the flowers from the Happiness sheet and curled the edges to add a little dimension, then I dressed them up with a brad and button. I also found the perfect beaded flourish to help fill in some of the white space on the side.

I added some embellishments to the upper side of the picture to help balance out the picture. It's so easy to dress up simple buttons by using some twine or floss.

I love the stamp accents on the Icons and Tabloids sheets, so I decided to use some of them to create a banner. I used pink cardstock and foam adhesive to help them stand out a bit.

I don't know if you've seen my blog, but I consider myself a bit of a scrappy novice. I am terrified of embellishments and I could probably stand to be a little more confident in my work. (Aren't we our own worst critics?!) Although I have to admit, this layout makes me proud that I do what I do. Anyone can throw some pictures in a photo album, but when you take the time to dress them up a bit and personalize them with your own touches, the picture itself means that much more. The Blissful collection inspired me to dress up this picture for my friend and I'm more than honored to have done this layout for her.

I hope you find inspiration in Authentique's collections, too!
