She is...

To be honest, I had an entirely different layout scheduled for my post today. I made it a couple weeks ago when I first got my Authentique goodies and thought I would get ahead and make all my projects far in advance. Late last week, I received my share of Free Bird and it was love. How could I not cut into it right away and make something? Firstly, these 6x6 papers are TEXTURED! Be still, my heart. After staring at each individual Free Bird paper for quite a while, I finally settled on using Fair-Weather first. The color combinations are so striking in person, and I had just the picture of my daughter, Harper, to use on this layout.

I used all four Fair-Weather papers on this layout, but still have about half of each paper left over and will certainly be making use of every last scrap. I made a border all around the page by hand-trimming and using border punch scraps. I really like the mish-mashed look of the border by itself, but in order to give it more emphasis, I drew curlicues all around the edge and then paper-pierced and hand-stitched.

Just look at that texture! Swoon. And the colors, the houndstooth, I love it all.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper- Authentique Free Bird Fair-Weather
Cardstock- Michaels Brand Kraft
Embroidery Floss- DMC

Keep a look-out at your LSS for Free Bird. It really is SO beautiful in person.
