WONDER Filled Advent

Now that we've seen the beautiful advent calendar that Samantha and Melodee made lets take a look at another version. :)

Hi there, hope your Halloween was fantastic and now that it's over let's move on to a brand new holiday!!! I've always wanted an advent calendar that you could put little trinkets or ideas for something to do on that day in. I happened upon this inexpensive chipboard one at Hobby Lobby and picked it up as fast as my hot little hands would carry it home. :)
The great thing about the Wonder collection for me is that it isn't "cute". I think it is sophisticated and I love that the colors are rich and although red and green they're not outdated in any way.

This advent calendar can be proudly displayed where my children can take turns pulling out each day's box and examining the contents.
I created the numbers in MSWord and printed them on a piece of paper from the collection. I also used a one inch circle punch to cut out the grips before attaching the paper to the fronts.
Adding Stickles here and there on the patterns, word stickers and paper pieced embellies made it come together so nicely. Hope your holidays are filled with joy and love.

  5. This is gorgeous Misty! I've never done an advent calendar because they all seem to have candy or toys and I don't want to add that much sugar or tiny toys(more clutter to step on). But I love that you said to put ideas of things to do! I'm sold. I'm making an advent now!!!

  8. I seriously can't wait to make one of these and this is just one more push to make sure it gets done instead of putting it off until it's too late. Beautiful job, Misty!!! Great inspiration...and I think I can still get my hands on some Wonder, too!

  12. Love this advent calendar. I'm thinking of using mine to make my own LEGO advent calendar for my son instead of buying one I'll just raid his stash and put them in this.
