It’s a WONDER-ful time of the year!

Hi everyone!
It’s Trisha Ladouceur here today sharing a few fun tags with you using the fabulous “WONDER” collection by Authentique. I have the privilege of being one of the AUTH-orized educators for Authentique, sharing my passion for paper crafting with ladies at retail stores and scrapbook events around the world!

With the holidays being right around the corner and most of frantically working to finish up our to-do list that seems to grow exponentially by the minute I thought I would share a few of the tags and then the cards WITH instructions just in case you want to create your own set to send to a lucky recipient!

What’s fun about these tags is that they have been designed to serve a dual purpose. They are created with little pockets that will hold a gift card perfectly. Just think how much a teacher, neighbour, friend or family member would love to receive a hidden treasure when they get your creation in the mail!

So...let’s get started!

First up, gift tag number 1...

This tag is created with assorted WONDER papers and co-ordinating embellishments.

I added a wee bit of twine and a few buttons along with some die cut greenery and pine cones (created from Sizzix Dies) using Authentique paper and card stock.

TAG #2....

The second tag is of a similar concept but notice how I partially cut around the tree? This allowed me to tuck the pocket beneath the tree so as not to lose this beautiful graphic beneath the pocket but to pull it to the forefront where it would get the attention it deserves.

One other thing I want to draw you attention to on this particular tag... I added a drop of Glossy Accents to each of the red ornaments on the tree. This is a great way to add a little bit of dimension to an otherwise flat piece of paper. It captures ones attention and makes them take a second look. So easy yet so fabulous of a end result! Give it a try... you won't regret it!

Now for the final tag... this time, I took photos along the way so I could walk you through some of the steps to show you just how easy it is to create your very own Gift Card Enclosure Gift Tag. The concept remains the same and by using all papers and embellishments from within the Authentique "WONDER" Collection of papers, die cuts and stickers, you are pretty much guaranteed success each and every time!

Step 1: Cut pocket to 3-1/2" wide X 4" tall. Score top edge at 1" and the other 3 sides at 1/2" from the edge. Notch corners as shown. Use a decorative border punch along top edge.

Step 2: Layer a second punched piece of paper and glue down.

Step 3: Use a circle punch as shown to create a semi circle at the top of the pocket.

Step 4: Create your base tag. You can either use a die or I simply covered a number 8 tag with the patterned paper shown here. If you need to cut your own tag, the dimensions are 3-1/8" wide X 6-1/4" tall.

Step 5: Adhere a 2-7/8" wide X 4" tall piece of patterned paper near the lower edge of the tag (keep it equally spaced along the 2 sides and bottom).

Step 6: Attach die cut border strip along lower edge on the BACK side of the tag. Trim excess.

Step 7: Cover seam with trim of your choice. In this case, I used Bazzill pom pom trim and some pine garland I had in my craft stash. You can add a couple of staples at either end if you so choose.

Step 8: Layer die cut embellishments on front of pocket. Tie some Jute around garland.

Step 9: Finish this Gift Card Tag off by adding 2 photo corners to top of pocket background and a die cut postage stamp to the center of the jute that was tied around the garland. Build an embellishment cluster at the top of the tag by creating holly leaves and pine cones using Authentique patterned paper and card stock. Tie some jute through a hole punched in the mini tag and tie a bow around the pine cones.

If you really want to take this tag one step further, add some Petite Type stickers or create a message using the Diction stickers.

As you can imagine, the options are endless when using the Authentique WONDER collection of papers and embellishments when creating tags like these.

As the end of 2011 draws near, I want to take the opportunity to wish each and everyone of you a happy holiday season and a joyous new year! I hope to see you at an Authentique class in 2012.
