Uncommon Girly Things

This is my first post for Authentique, I am so excited!!
I have a couple of things to share that I have created for my girls.
First Let me show you a scrapbook page I made for my 4 yo.
**Warning** - You will see a lot of her!

To create this page, I tried combining a lot of NON-traditional products with my Authentique Paper products.
As you can see I have used paper and products from the UNCOMMON & SPLENDID Collections.
The jewels and trinkets are all from Beverly's Fabric & Crafts.
The large "P" is a wood cutout that I covered with some of the Foundations paper from the Uncommon line.
The wand you see on the page was made by a real live princess,(my 4 yo)
so I had to make it part of this page for her.
I love all the layers and definition of this page, not to mention how much I love the color and style of everything in the SPLENDID Collection.
Switching gears, but still staying with some of the Uncommon products, here is a bracelet and other things all made with some fun products I picked up at Beverly's Fabric and Crafts.
Here is a necklace made from a small bottle cap.
Here is a closeup to see the detail.
Here's what it looks like on.
I also made a pair of earrings to match the bracelet and necklace.
Here is the set(and my daughter too!).
She really liked all of the pieces.
Here is a close up of the bracelet on.
I love to make things that are useful and have a purpose.
I challenge you to get some of your favorite Authentique Paper and see what you can make with products that are not your usual scrap booking type supplies.
If you make something be sure to share it with all of us on our Facebook Page.
This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with your Uncommon projects for the day.

Welcome to the Authentique Paper blog! We are still making some changes and updating things on our brand new blog, but we wanted to make sure you knew how to find us! Ok, for the contest - it's pretty simple and straight forward...

Change your profile picture to one of the two Authentique badges on the right-hand sidebar of the blog ---> {over there} and share with your friends how much you love Authentique Paper by asking them to become an Authentique fan on FB and a follower of the NEW Authentique Paper blog! Be sure to have your friends tell us who sent them our way.

Starting today & through Friday, we will be searching through our Blog followers as well as on Facebook and our Facebook page to randomly select a winner to receive the 6x6 paper pad of their choice! Good luck!

pretty little things

in honor of trips and summer time, i created a suitcase full of memories with authentique paper's "journey" collection.

to start, i took a stack of paper bags and turned them into a suitcase minibook stuffed full of cards to use as the "pages" of the book. there's still plenty of room for loose photos and keepsakes too.

then i added a stack of cards to fill the book. check out the details - each card features something different. we've got acrylic tags, flocking, "sugaring", ribbon distressing as well as my traditional ripping and inking.

the blues and warm greys really make me think of the beach, so many of the cards have an ocean feel. i used dried sea stars, brass bits and pieces, and curly wave and seaweed inspired shapes. the crocheted lace really makes me think of a summer beach house.

in the center of the minibook is a spread made with one of my favorites from the collection - the perfect spot for writing a vacation itinerary.

my favorite card is this one with "sugaring" around the edges, and custom tinted flower ribbon using "broken china" distress ink (the perfect color match) and ribbon flowers.

i love this fold-out - so reminiscent of maps! imagine tucking tiny pics in this multi-fold "map", tucked into the minibook
i loved using the "petite type circle" letters combined with the "tabloids", "excerpts" and "notable" to create more pretty little things.

i hope you are as inspired to take a "journey" as i was!

supply list:
all papers - authentique paper materials - "journey collection"
paper embellishments - authentique paper"journey" collection "tabloids", "icons", "excerpts", "noteables",
alphas - authentique paper "petite type circle" and "classic type"
inks - distress ink in "broken china" and "frayed burlap"
pretty little trinkets - prima marketing, robin's nest, tim holtz alterations

Uncommon Pin Board

Hey there and welcome...if you're coming here from my blog than you already know the story of how I acquired this little beauty of a pin board. If not then you can go HERE to read about it after you see it in all its glory :)
My daughter, Tessa, is feeling very special having such a pretty thing in her room.
I cut out the roses from the 12x12 sheet of "Unique" paper
I added Petite Circle Type letters to the tag and then sewed around it! I tied the twine to the board and then attached the flowers.
Tessa says it looks like a little robot face and she loves it!! Yes it does look a little roboty :).

Uncommon is so wonderful to work with. Try to spruce up a vintage find of your own soon!

Supply List:
ALL from the Uncommon Collection
Patterned Paper: Unique back and front, Gifted: diamonds
Plain Paper: cream
Alphas: Petite Type Circle
Labels: Excerpts
Tools: Circle Punch, EK Success flower punch for the center flower
Coral Brad

For today's card I wanted to challenge myself to create using a mix of the patterned papers from Authentique Paper's Splendid 6x6 Bundle.
{The only cardstock here is the card base which has been fully covered on the front.}

I am not typically a pattern mixer - when I was younger I fully believed that one should never wear stripes with plaids...and don't even think about bringing polka dots and florals into the mix!

Having three small children (that choose their own outfits) has taught me that some days (or maybe even every day) you just might want to mix it up.
Who needs to match, anyway?
(I know my kids certainly don't believe in it.)

So...I've taken all my former beliefs and have thrown them out the window in order to create this card today.

I added the sentiment using the Petite Type Circle alphas and finished it off with some little doodles.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just like Tifany on yesterdays post, I love the woodgrain paper (Brilliance) from the Splendid line. I loved it for a masculine, yet whimsical background to this layout about my son's start to his education.

I love to layer and add lots of small clusters of embellishments on my layouts, so I have several spots on here that I did that. Pieces from the Richness and Renown papers add part of the main block, while pennants from a variety of the papers add a fun touch across the top of the page.
A stickers and some die cuts add a tiny punch at the top of the page.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope this gives you a little inspiration for your weekend scrapping!

Authentique Supplies Used:
Patterned Paper: Splendid line (Renown, Magnificence, Richness, Majesty, Brilliance); Journey line (Promenade)
Stickers: Petite Type Circles, Diction (Splendid line); Classic Type (Blissful line)
Die cuts: Noteables (Splendid line)

I love this woodgrain paper from Authentique Paper's Splendid collection, don't you?
I love that the paper alone has enough color, texture, and depth to create a beautiful card.

This is a very simple card...just add a sentiment and some brads to the beautiful paper and the card is done.
It is always great to have cards on hand that are not too bulky for mailing - and this one could be sent to a male or female, and would even be great for a teenager.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hi! It's Tifany here and I am SO excited to be a part of the Authentique Paper Design Team (and being the DT Coordinator is just icing on the cake!).

Meet today's card:

Yellow and grey is such a fabulous color combination, and the Blissful line from Authentique Paper utilizes it beautifully.
(And I love the fun little pops of pink throughout the line!)

For this card, I used papers from the Blissful 6x6 Bundle, both for the card base and for the flowers and leaves.

I love it when you can use already beautiful papers to easily create fun embellishments!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Love is the thread that binds us

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's Emily here with my very first blog post as an Authentique Design Team member! I'm very excited to get the opportunity to work with such a fabulous company and a great group of ladies on the DT!

Today I'm sharing with you a little mini album that I made out of paper lunch bags. Yes, I do love to make a lot of creations with things that I find around my house! I am in love with the "Blissful" line! I think that the vibrant yellows with a touch of pink and a hint of black and grey are just brilliant! I was able to pull this album together rather quickly because of the versatility of this paper line!

Here is a closer look at the cover:

Thanks for stopping by today! I look forward to sharing a lot more of my work with you in the near future here on the Authentique blog!

Free Bird Series

We have named our newest product offering the "Free Bird Series." The reason? We are setting 6x6 papers free from the stifling confinement of being sold only in pads. Let's face it, most 6x6 papers are reduced versions of a 12x12 design. Until this release from Authentique Paper, 6x6 papers have not been sold individually or designed exclusively with a 6x6 outcome in mind.

Our unique merchandising approach allows us to sell these gorgeous double-sided papers on their own, one at a time, rather than only being sold in pads. Affordably priced and printed on an amazing, high-quality textured cardstock, you'll be able to purchase as many or as few of these 6x6 papers as you choose. While we may offer limited quantities in "nests," (our term for bundles or pads), this series will primarily be offered al-a-carte through retail locations worldwide.

The Free Bird Series will feature 32 individual designs in 8 color themes and will hopefully be shipping within the next few weeks. This first series has been designed by Sam & Tara using this Fall's hottest color trends. Now you can get just the right 6x6 design in just the right quantities. 12x12 papers are sold individually, why not 6x6 papers? Authentique Paper has set 6x6 papers free!

We will show you one of each of the eight new color themes over the next couple of weeks. Let us know what you think and ask your local scrapbook retailer to be one of the first to carry Free Bird from Authentique. Not only will it be affordable to you, the customer, but it will be affordable for your retailer as well. Don't worry, this isn't all we have in mind when it comes to setting things free, but we felt it was the best place to start!
