AUTHENTIQUE PAPER: Creating Dimensional Embellishments

While chatting away with both the lovely ladies (and gent) from Authentique, and the other lovely ladies from ScrapbookSteals this past Friday, a great question came about according to Authentique products. Are there going to be any dimensional products created by Authentique? Currently, there are no dimensional pieces in any of the lines. However, this does not mean that you cannot make your own dimensional details from any of the products available.

Here are my embellishment go to products. At least for today. You should be able to easily change out what you like as far as embellishments go. Today's pick: diecut machine, spray adhesive, Glossy Accents, buttons, bling, heavy duty cardstock or kraft paper, Glue Dots and of course foam pop dots.
Start by cutting both the kraft/cardstock and your patterned paper. Multiple pieces in the same and varied sizes works perfectly. I decided to play with Glory for this project.

For sturdier pieces, spray the back of the patterned paper and kraft pieces...

Sandwich the same sized pieces of patterned paper with the kraft/cardstock. You've just thickened up and made your pieces sturdier!

To make these dimensional now, just add pop dots and stack on top of one another.

If you want to use the cardstock stickers, but don't want them sticky, or just need them sturdier... Stick them on the kraft/cardstock and cut them out. It's a little time consuming, but worth it.

Glossy Accents can add more dimension or shine to certain pieces. They also are great for sticking bling on. Use a pin to pop any air bubbles.

Here are four completed dimensional accents. Offset, add buttons, bling, etc. and make these really your own.

See all the dimension!!

I decided to use my favorite on a cute card for Memorial Day.
I just love how it adds just that extra touch.
I hope this helps with creating your own dimensional accents. Remember, there are no real 'rules'. Make what you like, and create something wonderful!

  1. Recently, I had fun making full layered flowers with your Loyal collection. By slathering each graduated layer with stickles, it really helped to firm up the petals and help the flowers maintain their curled-petal design.
