Project Inspiration with Love My Tapes!

For my project today, I paired the lovely Washi Tape #838 and the Striped Fabric Tape in red with the Festive Collection to make a pair of cute gift tags. I simply started with a tag that I cut with my Silhouette, then added some fun ribbon, Details stickers and Festive patterned papers until I felt that they were just right. To finish them off, I added little details like red seam binding and white pen faux stitching. 

These little trees are super easy to make, and just take a little bit of practice to fold correctly.

To start, cut a circle of patterned paper in half. For this project, I used the fabric tape on one side. This way, the red striped tape contrasted against the dark green Believe paper.

 

Trim the extra tape from the half-circle.

 

Then fold three times so that it is in the shape of a tree. I don't have any really great tricks for this... Just practice with a spare piece of paper until you get it to work the way you want it to. Different sized circles work differently however.

Stick each fold down with some dimensional or liquid adhesive. Tape runners do not always stick on the fabric tape. Then just decorate the tag with the tree, and add ornaments if you wish!

I just love how these washi tape matched the "Original" collection so perfectly.

Using the washi tapes to make the centers for my flowers and also to make a layered flower

for my layout. Just fold your washi tape in less than a half , so you still have some sticky

tape on the bottom. Then roll it in.. squishing the tape together.. add some

fast drying Helmar glue to the bottoms and stick on your flower.

For the actual flower.. fold your washi tape over one another so it is not sticky

anymore.. then fold it in fours, cut petals out.. do the same for the inside of the flower

as mentioned above and glue it all together.

 You will also notice I used some, scalloping the edges to layer

over my lace ribbon.. gives it a translucent look and adds some texture.

In this layout I used some Authentique/ Unity Stamps  for my background, {Key to my Heart}.

Cutting out the already diamond shape quilt pattern from the Original paper " compound" I randomly placed them on my layout using some foam adhesive. I just this paper so much. It is a great way add another paper element to your layouts.

I also used the washi tape to make a long banner going up my layout. Layering the tapes

over each other slightly.

For this challenge in make a combination of three collections from Authentique- Uncommon, Delightful and Peaceful. I had to be creative and get out some older collections because the tapes that I received were pink and black... and of course, I always like to combine a little bit.

I made the banners with the tape. They are very easy to just stick it on your paper! And I also made the rosettes with the tape!

1. just stick the tape on your paper

2. die cut the rosette

3. take a border punch and add to the outside of the rosette to form a border

4. fold the rosette, take quick dry glue and make the rosette
