Welcome Authentique fans! Today is my turn to join the fabulous Authentique-Canvas Corp. Blog Hop. I'm so excited to share this project with you today, which literally.....went to the dog!
Daisy is my special Saint. We rescued her in 2005, when she was 18 months old. She had been locked in a backyard for most of her life to that point, with little access to her human family. She came to us just dieing to be loved, and we loved her right back!
She's got the best expressions, and she's such an original. Which means she's perfect for Authentique's "Original Collection".
To create the shadowbox effect, I used the backside of the "Stretched Canvas" and "Stretched Burlap" mini-canvases, and covered the edges with paper and more burlap.
For the roses, I cut a circle of burlap, and used the pre-made "Canvas Minis" circles. I cut a spiral in each and twirled away. The leaves are cut from more burlap, free-hand.
To create the burlap ruffle, I took 1" wide strips cut from a 12x12 "Burlap Fabricpage" and crunched and glued them around the edge of the canvas back.

When I received my box full of great stuff from Canvas Corp, I really have to think what to made with it... after a little time to think... I knew I wanted to make with my photo tray, a big mini album ! I decided to use the "Peaceful" collection because it really looks great in my home, and I made this album for my hubby so I didn't want it to be too feminine!
Here is the front of the album- I covered the whole photo tray and I used pieces of chipboard for the cover. The & sign is a piece of big wood
The inside of my big mini album
I printed directly on the patterned paper
The little stretched canvas is great to use in the tray!
I don't if I've mentioned this before, but my mother in law, she's 86... she makes these beautiful doilies for me all the time! Isn't she great?!
Products used:
Authentique: peaceful collection papers, detail stickers, element stickers
Canvas corp: 7 Gypsies white phototray,canvas minitag,burlap minis flag,stretched canvas,braided rope

ReplyDeleteAmazing projects ladies!!
ReplyDeleteLoes...how did you attach the chipboard cover to the painter's tray?
i went to a book store for a big size of paper. in the midst of it a made the chipboard covered with the patterned paper. At the inside i made the lay -out so thats heavy enough to make a cover.....
DeleteThe dog frame looks so awesome! I just love the idea of incorporating real dog cookies in it too.
ReplyDeleteLoes's album is such a gorgeous project too! I love these elegant colours, the touches of burlap and the cute angels!
I just love your tray mini album and the doillie makes it extra special. I did a couple of the canvas Corp projects and have to say that I fell in love with the Authentique papers. I can't wait to get more!!
ReplyDeleteBoth projects are gorgeous & unique! Using the backside of the canvas was brilliant! The dimensionality (is that a word? :D) of the shadow box effect served as the perfect background for the new member of the family. Love the inked edges on the circle. It pulled it into the color scheme of the Authentique paper. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOooo..... I'm so in love with the paper tray u used to honor ur hubby! So masculine, but with touches of femininity bring the 2 of u together in the compartments. Brilliant use of the paper line & bringing forth a vintage flair. Looks exactly like you found it in an antique store. I am so in love with the doilies ur mother-in-law makes. PERFECT! & ur sentiments were extremly heartfelt. I could feel the honest & pure love u share! BTW: let your mother-in-law know about the marketability of her doilies. She could sell her work on ebay in a flash! (i know I would be bidding :D) TFS!!
thank you.....
