You are My Sunshine

Hi everybody! I am so excited to be here today, sharing with you a sweet, girly girl card featuring lots of gorgeous goodies from the Renew collection!

I absolutely fell in love with Renew the first moment I saw it with all the lovely patterns and the stunning color combination. One of my most favorite pieces from the collection are the Petite Folders. Stacked all together, the Petite Folders make a fabulous mini album base, but as a card-maker, I couldn't wait to try making a card from one of the folders. And I love how it came out!

I simply started with the blue polka dotted Petite Folder. Down the center of the card, I added a panel of Rejuvenate patterned paper. I love that this paper already comes with a contrasting chevron pattern at the side, which I made sure to include here for some easy extra detailing. I added a bit of ruffled trim to the left edge of my panel before adhering it to my folder base.

Next step was to start adding layers. First, a panel of Transform paper in the center of the folder, layered with one of the die cut file cards from the Mini Notes. I placed lace trim at the edge of the two papers, and lined the bottom of the panel with fun pom pom ribbon.

Tied the whole card with a pretty yellow seam binding bow. My trick for tying up a card like this is to make a small slit in the folded edge of the card base with your craft knife, and slipping the ribbon through the slit and around to the front. The tab on the edge of the Petite Folder is enough to hold the card closed.

Added a simple string bow and a vintage button to the side tab. That gorgeous flower was fussy cut from the Rejuvenate paper. I edge all my paper pieces with brown ink to help them stand out against their background layers. Adhering the flower with foam adhesive also helps add definition.

A few last final details were added to the top of the card. That sweet gingham photo corner is from the Frames & Corners Die Cuts. I added a 10 cent die cut from the Block Numbers at the tippy top edge, and the sentiment was cut from the Titles & Phrases sheet.
