Spring cards with Kiwi Lane Designs!

Hello Authentique friends! JJ here today, to share some cards featuring the "Seasons: Spring" petite collection.


For each of these cards, I used curve templates from Kiwi Lane Designs.  I started out by tracing the curves on several pieces of the patterned paper (and some card stock), then I cut them out and distressed the edges.  Layering thick papers like Authentique's gives some nice depth to a card.


I finished off this card with a sentiment, some pretty Petaloo flowers, and a couple of stick pins from Maya Road.


This card was made in a similar way, but I added stitching to the layers:


I punched out a couple of clouds and adhered them with foam adhesive, to give more dimension.


I placed the letter stickers on one of the contrasting papers, and cut around the whole sentiment, leaving a border.  This little trick helps words stand out against the background.


For the third card, I again started with the Kiwi Lane curve template.


I die-cut a few 'doily' shapes to back the sentiment stickers, and adhered with foam-adhesive to make them 'pop'.


Then I tucked in a couple more of the Maya Road stick pins.

    I've never thought of getting their products because I make cards, I don't scrapbook. But now I see that they can really be used for cards, too. I love the curves...

    I really like the layered look. The Seasons Spring collection worked well with this technique. I did all 4 entries:

    Lovely cards! On the first one, I love the pins and the "Happy Birthday" tiles. On the second one, I love the "Thank you" tiles and the stitching. Thank you for the inspiration! Beautiful colors and pattern paper. I am hooked on Authentique papers!
