What could be more fun than working with Authentique Paper's "Strong" paper collection? By mixing these great colors and patterns with adhesives and Glitter Dust from our cross promotional partner, Therm-O-Web!
Card #1: Happy & Strong
When I first saw the "Strong" line of paper at CHA in January, the first idea that popped into my head was incorporating Spellbinders' Nestabilities "Cogs"die set. The base of this card is with navy cardstock. The background is a piece of "Mighty" crossword puzzle paper that was sprayed with Therm-O-Web's Gold Glitter Dust. "Happy" and "Strong" sentiments are from the "Strong Foundations" cut-apart paper sheet layered on top of olive ribbon. The cogs were cut from the Spellbinders die set from "Marvelous" paper and navy cardstock that was sprayed with the Gold Glitter Dust. Each size was adhered using ZOTS to give each layer of the cogs dimensionality. All the "Strong" layering and die cut pieces were edged using IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko Memento ink in Peanut Brittle and Nautical Blue. For the navy pieces I edged the pieces with IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko VersaMagic Chalk Ink in Gingerbread because it stands out on the dark colored cardstock.
Cards #2: Totally You
Attention to detail and LOTS of the "Strong" paper collection here- I think that I actually used a little bit of every pattern from this collection to create this card! The inspiration for this card was an Inchie Card layout I'd seen online but I wanted to spice it up a little bit so I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Labels die set for making the focal point labels for the patterned pieces and matching layering pieces in chocolate and navy cardstock.
The fleurishes were created from the "Clever" script paper and die cut using Spellbinders Imperial Gold "Gold Elements" set. The fleurishes were then edged with Memento Nautical Blue and I used an Inkblusher to add some Memento Peanut Brittle to offset the pieces from the background. The "Handsome" fence background paper is the perfect contrast to all the patterns and lets the "Totally You" sticker form the "Strong Details" sheet stand out. Gold Glitter Dust was used on the "Handsome" paper, along with the solid color layering cardstock pieces.
And yes- I did wrap each one of the small patterned frame pieces with twine! I used a few different colors of upholstery thread for wrapping and making those tiny little bows.
Card #3: Dad & Me
For this card, Authentique had dome most of the work for me- gotta love that! The card base is navy cardstock sprayed with Gold Glitter Dust with a layer of mustard cardstock over that. The distressed denim blue paper (from the "Strong" 8 x 8 bundle) was sprayed with Gold Glitter Dust. This color perfectly offsets the mint "Enduring" paper that has been die cut with Spellbinders Grateful Lattice Expandable Pattern die. I chose this particular die because the shell shaped design in the die matched the scalloped edges of the sentiment pieces.
The sentiments about good 'ol Dad, along with the layering pieces beneath are all from the "Strong Circles and Scallops" die cut paper accents. I sprayed the sentiment pieces with the Gold Glitter Dust and edged all of the pieces with Memento Nautical Blue and Peanut Brittle. The sheer navy ribbon underneath each sentiment was also sprayed with the Glitter Dust, just to add some extra sparkle.
Hope these cards give you some inspiration for you own projects!

JJ Sobey
Hello Authentique friends! JJ here to share cards for Mother's Day and Father's Day, featuring Thermoweb adhesive and our "Grace" and "Strong" collections (and 8x8 papers!)
I embossed and die-cut some Core'dinations cardstock to layer with the patterned papers, and adhered all the papers with a Thermoweb Sticky Dot Runner. I glued the May Arts ribbon with Zots adhesive dots - an easy way to stick ribbon to textured papers!
Then I added the sentiment, and some fussy-cut flowers, using Thermoweb 3D foam squares, for a little lift:
Supplies:
Authentique "Grace" and "Strong" collections, Thermoweb adhesives (Zots, Sticky Dot Runner, 3D foam squares), May Arts Ribbon, Want2Scrap pearls, Core'dinations cardstock, Imagine Crafts ink
Thanks for visiting!

Last week I sat down in my craft room to create with the "Cherish" and "Strong" product lines.
Strong was up first... this normally would be a hard task for me as i'm a girly girl kind of crafter. I typically lean towards bright colors and glitter and bows and shiny things. Still, we all need to reach beyond our comfort zone.
Since I was a little out of my comfort zone I chose a design that I love to create over and over again! I matted one of my favorite patterns on a dark card base. The sticker sheets and die cut sheets in the Strong line were perfect and I lined them up on the center of the card. After they were all arranged I rand a zig zag stitch down the center.
Finally I used the Therm o Web 3D foam squares to pop up one circle die cut on the card. I love working with these adhesive foam squares to add dimension. I particularly love Therm o Web adhesive squares because they come in different sizes and use the entire surface space of the sheet. I also typically use a double sided adhesive but after having some time to create with the Sticky Dot Runner by Therm o web I fell in love with yet another of their adhesives.
Now... let's get to my area of expertise... the girly stuff. Using Cherish I created a card for my Grandma. I love love love this color scheme and the texture of the patterned paper was so velvety. I'm also a big time die cutter and Authentiques papers always cut so beautifully as you can see here with this super delicate doily I die cut. Arrange some of the - always spot on - sentiments off the sheet of 12x12 paper and pair them with some Petaloo flowers and pins.
I was over the moon to receive some of the new Therm o Web Glitter Spray. This is my newest go to, have to spray it on everything, product. After I finished my card I lightly sprayed the flowers and upper left corner of the card with the glitter spray. It was stunning on the paper and gave it just the most perfect sparkle. It also is wonderful because it covers over so many surfaces; the flowers, crystal pins, the pearl and even the ribbon!
Hope you enjoyed my projects as much as I enjoyed creating them... have a beautiful day!
