"Natural" Coasters

Need a quick and easy gift?  I would definitely say that making coasters with Authentique Paper is perfect for almost any occasion and with the wide variety of papers to choose from the possibilities are endless!

Start by picking up some 4-1/4˝ tiles from your local hardware store.  The basic glossy white ones are perfect and are less than a 25¢ each- and they're available in a 6˝ size as well for less than $1.  The process is very simple- put an even coat of Creative Medium across the top of your coaster, lay down your background paper of choice, and then use a brayer to roll the paper flat.  This will also remove any excess Creative Medium and air bubbles.  Once dry (less than 5 minutes) you can add your layering pieces.  I then edged my coasters with StazOn inks in Jet Black and Metallic Gold to give them a finished look.  The last step is to put at least two coats of Creative Medium over the top to seal your papers and you're all set- how easy is that!?!
"Beaming" Coaster  This coaster features the "Beaming" paper in the background with The Best Things In Life taken from the "Enhancements" sheet.
"Daydream" Coaster  I used "Daydream" as the background for this coaster with a small piece of the print on the backside of the paper along the bottom edge.  The Journey Awakens The Soul is from the "Enhancements" sheet.
"Native" Coaster  The flower and leaf print can be found on the "Native" paper and looked great on this coaster!  Beneath the quote are layered strips of "Daydream" and "Beaming" taken from the 6 x 6 paper pack.
"Beaming" Coaster  The background for this coaster has the "Beaming" paper embellished with stickers taken from the sticker sheet in the bottom left corner.  The layering piece on the right was fussy cut from a piece of "Daydream" paper to add some color and contrast.

Hope this gives you some inspiration to create your own set of coasters for yourself or as a gift!
