Fun Projects with Authentique Paper & Silhouette!

Today we were asked by our friends at Silhouette to help promote a great promotion that they have going on this week!

Some members of our design team jumped right in and made a few projects with their Silhouette machines and the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software.

Angie Blom

Using the collection "Remembrance" and the cut file 3 mason jars.I went into my Silhouette Designer Series and cut out the shapes. atering them to fit my card project and making sure I can edit and cut some of the shapes from different cardstock. I did the same with the doily lace circle. Then all I had to do is assemble my card , adding some of the Remembrance "components "sticker shape and the Authentique stamps happy from the "Happy to be me" stamp set.

I love that fact that Silhouette has this awesome designer software. The more I dig in and get in to see all of the features, the more I want to create and come up with my own designs. Today, I am sharing with you a card that I made using the designer software. One of my favorite features of the designer software...the welding feature. I love creating my own titles and making them into one or more words instead of individual letters.

Announcing: "Grace" by Authentique Paper

"Grace was in all her steps..." Whether mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, or friend, our "Grace" collection is a medley of floral beauty. Soft, rich tones, feminine patterns, and sweet sentiments make this collection an instant classic.

We thought this collection would be perfect for our new "puzzle pieces" which are double sided paper accents...of course, printed on our special textured paper! They are sold in a package and boast over 35 pieces.

Also making an entrance into "Grace" are our Petite Folders - perfectly sized for recipe cards, mini albums, or stitch the sides together and make a pocket.

The 12x12 papers are printed on a woven-textured fabric your mother would love! It is luxurious, soft and allows the detail of each pattern to be highlighted. Below are the 6 double sided papers offered in this collection (in no particular order, see our website for the front/back match ups of designs).

"Grace" also features a 6x6 AND 8x8 bundle (paper pad) - so take your pick! Each size has it's benefits, it's really up to you, but either way, the "bundle" is a MUST have!

Collection kits allow you to grab and go - included in this kit is an EXCLUSIVE 12x12 Details & 12x8 Elements sticker - the only way to get these intricate, perfectly color-matched stickers is inside the kit!

Our one-of-a-kind Paper-crafting Assortment features exclusive designs and boasts over 950 pieces making it ideal for Mother's Day cards.

Below are the paper die cuts included in the paper crafting assortment - these too, are exclusive to this "kit" and the designs are too beautiful to miss...imagine the possibilities...cards, gifts, pages, projects, the list could go on and on...also included are (24) 8x8 papers, hundreds of alphabet stickers and our infamous "diction" mini-word stickers.

We hope graceful mothers everywhere will shine when a hand-made gift from our "Grace" collection is presented to them. Everything we did when designing this theme was focused on celebrating the "graceful" woman in our lives.

Grace is shipping and available in stores NOW - you don't want to miss out on this beauty!

We want to GIVE AWAY a "Grace" prize to one lucky fan! Just leave a comment telling us what you love about this collection and what kind of projects you would make with it. We will draw and announce a winner in our "Winner Round-up" at the end of this month!

Guest Designer: AJ Otto

We love getting the chance to meet new faces, especially after seeing their amazing work all over the many social media outlets like Pinterest & Facebook, and personal blogs. We had the pleasure of meeting AJ Otto last month at CHA-W. We must say, she is a real gem and a true talent! She even brought us some amazing handmade gift bags with the most delicious chocolate inside... and who doesn't love gifts that contain chocolate?! When AJ brought by some of her work, we immediately decided that we needed her to fill a guest design spot!

We will let her take it away and share her amazing talent with you all today!

I am a sort-of-stay at home mom with a husband and two children. I began scrapbooking when I found out I was pregnant with my oldest, and it went down hill from there. I have since gotten into cards and stamping and now I find my self somewhat addicted to this little hobby of ink and paper and ribbon and all things crafty. I have a less is more sort of style, and a small obsession with patterned paper! I currently design for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Spellbinders, CardMaker Blog team, and Gina K Designs

Here I stamped an Easter sentiment and attached it to my bunny patterned paper. I love polka dots, and couldn't help adding some polka dot paper for contrast!

I just loved the adorable bunny rabbit on the paper, so I die cut him out as the focal image for my card. I popped up the Easter Greetings sticker with 3D Foam Squares and adhered it to the card- I love using adding a little dimension to the stickers this way.

I found these board books at Joann's for a dollar! They were calling my name to take them home and make into mini albums. I covered each pager with the various papers from the Hope Collection, laying them out to check to see if I like the mix of patterns before permanently adhering. Since it's so many pages, I will just share a few-

For the cover, I again die cut the cute bunny and popped him up on a few other die cuts.

I wanted to spell out Easter with letter stickers, so I used an alcohol marker and my "Lovely" elements letter stickers.

For the first inside page, I cut a few fun banners and more die cuts. I had to use the fun little arrow sticker, not sure how many more egg hunts my youngest will participate in!!

For second inside page, I adhered the 'Remember' sticker to a die cut and layered some seam binding behind it as well. Since the book is already so very chunky, I opted to keep embellishments flat inside.

For this card, I again used a cardstock element for the focus. I cut out the saying, and popped it up with foam tape. I die cut flowers and roughed them up a bit before adding with 3D foam squares. To finish it off, I adhered a few rhinestones to the center of my flowers, and a few sequins to my card.

Be sure to stop by AJ's personal blog and say hello, and please let her know we sent you!

Also, check out our "We Spy..." board on Pinterest! If we spy fabulous projects using Authentique products, we might just feature you in a future blog post!

"Renew" Mini Album

Hello, Angie Blom here with a Mini Album Tutorial
and the finished Mini Album using the Authentique Collection

To start this mini album you will need to cut some of your papers to the sizes below.
and then just follow the written instructions on each photo.

Here is my finished Album.

For my cover I used one of the Petite folders and then made some  rolled flowers to add with some Petaloo flowers.. the quote is from the throw away part of the paper .. I always keep a few of those to use on mini's, layouts or cards.. it is a great bonus you get with each paper collections.
Here is the inside of the folder.. where I will put 2 wallet size photo's
Using the collections puzzle pieces and some of the titles and phrases.

When adding my journaling I like it to be hidden so with some more of the petite folders
I cut them in 1/3's  and added some word stickers or sticker accents to them .. the photo mats I only
put adhesive on 3 sides to leave the top open for my journaling folders to go into..  This is a great way to add journaling and it doesn't take up any room in your mini.

Adding another Journaling spot and having a decorative paper clip hold it all together on your page.

You will notice on the Left side of page 4 the bottom strip of the pocket is a border of the puzzle piece elements.. when you take your puzzle pieces out of the paper diecut.. you will notice all the lovely left overs from the sides.. this is what it is.. I love using as much of the sides that you may throw away.. it becomes another fun element to your album or pages.

Here I added another folder for journaling or extra photo's .

Also more pocket photo mats. Some of the round diecuts are great
and they look like pieces of flair. I love that!

I also used some of the larger sentiment stickers.. !!

Hope you give this fun mini album a try.. was alot of fun to make
and embellish with these papers.. Authentique comes with so many wonderfully
decorative elements you really don't have to use anything else.. I love that!!
Thanks so much for coming by.
hugs
Angie
