When we create our product collections, we try to keep all aspects of paper crafting in mind. Whether you are a card maker, altered artist, mixed media artist, or an every day scrapbooker, Authentique products will work for what you are creating.

We know that the "Project Life" approach to scrapbooking is incredibly popular right now. For those of you who might not know what this is, it's simply a way to document your every day life 365 days a year. It's a quick, clean, & simple approach to scrapbooking. You can interpret it in your own way. We are going to let a couple of our design team members share with you how to incorporate Authentique Paper products into your everyday scrapbook projects.

This year as like many others I have been doing the unconventional way
of my Project Life.. I have done it the original way using the products
but living in Canada shipping is a problem and it gets very expensive.

So this year I can up with a way to use my Instagram photo's and
for journaling I make my own pockets and the journaling sits
there with added photo's etc..

I wanted to show you how amazing Authentique Papers look
with your Project Life layouts.
these pages are 8.5 x11.
Using the paper collection "SUMMER"

This is my full layout in my binder.
week 16

For the top of my page I added some banners using the papers from the 12 x 12 collection
and the 6 x 6 collections.

The words are from the papers and some to the other lines word sticker sheets.. I tell you
the word sticker sheets are my favourite for my Project Life.. and you get a variety of everyday
words so journaling is easy.

t\he pocket is just a piece of paper 5.5 x 3.5 scored on 3 sides about 1/2 inch and glued to the
white cardstock. they the tops measure 2.5 x 4.5 in width.  and that is folded on the scored parts and  glued on the white cardstock, you are only gluing the scored 1/2 inch folds.
.. and there you have the perfect pocket for holding all your journaling needs and extra photos.

For the next page in my week I added 1/2 circle scallops with another banner. and some of the
word stickers on my photo's..  I just love this sunny "SUMMER" collection for my Project Life
this week.  If you are a Project Lifer this is a great way of changing up your
basic cards with any of the Authentique collections.

To be honest, I cannot keep up with scrapping weekly unless it is a vacation week. So when Spring Break came along, I jumped at the chance to challenge myself to scrap an entire week of my activities. Since the Renew Collection fit perfectly with my theme of Spring Break, I started before I even had one photo taken.
I began my layout by filling a few of my photo sleeves with 4x6" pieces of paper. I knew that I wanted to add some journalling, so saved a few areas for this very reason.
On my first page, I used my Silhouette to cut out the month titles. I created a Silhouette file awhile back, and wanted to use it for my layout. I also added some handwritten and sticker elements in this using the Renew alphas from the Elements stickers.
Throughout the layout, I really utilized all of the pieces of the Paper Crafting Assortment. The Puzzle PiecesCircles and ScallopsMini Notes and Titles and Phrases were my favorite ways to add more interest in each section.
I also loved tossing in the Diction words from the Elements stickers here and there whenever I could use them.  And those chevrons, those are actually photo corners!

Announcing: "Be(you)tiful" by Authentique Paper

You can't spell beautiful without "be you"...we thought it was better suited (and a little more creative) to name this collection "Be(you)tiful." The reminder to "be you" is something we all strive for on a daily basis. We are very excited to present this sunny, cheerful, warm and 'beautiful' collection!

The Be(you)tiful collection contains:

- 6 designer patterned papers, printed on our...you guessed it, signature heavy-weight cardstock,
- 12x12 "Details" sticker sheet, printed on our...custom made matte-finish cardstock adhesive,
- 12x12 "Statements" die-cut accent sheet - double-sided, heavy-weight textured cardstock,
- 6x6 pad, which we call a "bundle"...24 reduced-scale designs with distressed solids on the back,
- Collection kit which includes 12 papers, a Details sticker & a Statements die-cut accent sheet.

Take note of the names of the 12x12 papers in this collection...it's all about expressing yourself, pledging to be yourself, persevering through every situation, being majestic (we are all queens and kings of our own world), and finally, integrating the mantra to "be yourself" into every day life.

The patterns - flowing and wispy florals, a crest which signifies a commitment to being yourself, bees - yes, bees - one of the most fascinating and amazing creatures on the Earth, crowns so you are reminded how amazing and royal you truly are, typewriter keys, "beautiful" words repeated, etc...this collection is truly one we are proud of and if you can't tell, feel the subject/theme is so important!

Now for the paper designs up close and personal - they are even more stunning in person!

"Expressed" 12x12 paper - #BEY001
soft grey toned floral & beautiful words (express yourself!)

"Pledge" 12x12 paper - #BEY002
"be yourself" Ledger w/ crest & grey circle honeycomb

"Persevere" 12x12 paper - #BEY003
Multi color diagonal stripe & bees

"Majestic" 12x12 paper - #BEY004
Framed crowns (hence, Majestic) & yellow mini dot

"Abundant" 12x12 paper - #BEY005
Measuring tape & grapefruit geometric pattern

"Integrate" 12x12 paper - #BEY006

Vintage typewriter keys & newsprint w/ honeycomb overlay

Moving right along to the 12x12 "Details" sticker sheet - Over 160 super-sticky, matte finish cardstock stickers - arguably the BEST quality on the market...the sentiments are absolutely amazing...

"Statements" die-cut accent sheet...textured cardstock so you can write reminders/tell a story of your quest to being YOU!

Remember - paper die-cut accents make it possible to be printed on both sides!

A favorite and often-hoarded item...the 6x6 "bundle"

...and as always, the Collection Kit...a bit of everything from the beautiful, woops...Be(you)tiful collection.

Now for some inspiring and uplifting projects created by Emily, our hard-working, upbeat and beautiful DT and Social Media coordinator...

Father's Day Presents

I love creative packaging. And my Silhouette. When I get to combine the two together, it's pure love. When I saw the Strong Collection, I knew that there would be at least one Father's Day present in my future. I'm not sure however if this present will last until Father's Day, it's just a little too cute not to share early.
For the front of the packaging, I used a Mini Notes die cut, and added some black cardstock letters in a fun font. I love the newish blackboard trend, so used a white gel pen to add detail, then I smudged a white pigment ink pad on the letters to make them look like chalk had smeared on them. To give it some more interest, I pop dotted the Mini Note.
I created the box using the 3D Hamburger Box from the Silhouette Online Store. I added "hinges" using the Hinges and Tabs die cuts and a couple of brads.
Here is the open Hamburger box. Since I used the double sided Enduring paper, even the interior is decorated! I inked all the pieces with ImagineCrafts ink in Nautical Blue.
The shredded paper was create by cutting super thin strips of an 8x8" piece of Hero, which I then ran through a paper crimper.
Aren't these magnets the cutest? I used the Father's Day frames cut, but there are quit a few available files that would easily work the same. I used the Adhesive Magnet Paper from Silhouette to make the magnet backs, then cut the frame using Handsome. Add a photo in the center, and now it's a super cute framed magnet!
See the little circle magnets? Those are even easier! Those were just created by cutting circles from the magnet paper, then I added pieces of the Circle and Scallops die cuts and Zapdots.
The Adhesive Magnet Paper makes it easy to create these little gems.
I did keep the magnets pretty small so that they would fit into the Hamburger box. If I was to make them without the box, I probably would use a 4x4" photo. And the finished project all packed up and ready for gift giving.

Guest Designer: Tessa Buys

Today we have a special treat for you! Not too long ago, we were flipping through one of our favorite crafty magazines, and we spotted a real gem. We have seen Tessa Buys work before and have been a fan for quite a while, but when we saw a stunning mini album created with some of our product that she recently had published, we knew we wanted her to guest design for us! We think that you all will agree, Tessa is a real talent and we know you will love what she has created for today!
I am a happy mother to three energetic boys and wife to a fantastic, supportive husband. We live in Northern California, where I work as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer. When not in the studio, I am in my craft room designing with everything from paper to fabric. Besides creating for my Etsy shop, Precocious Paper, I enjoy working for scrapbook companies, clubs and shops. You can find my work in Scrapbook Trends, Create Idea Books, Creating Keepsakes, and more. I love blue, but have a serious crush on yellow. I secretly enjoy being the only girl in my household and love all things floral and vintage. I am very grateful for this opportunity to guest design for Authentique!

The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday! Although I have layouts of our 2011 Independence Day, I wanted to put all of our favorite photos into a mini album. The Pride collection was perfect for this!

The base of the album is a 4x6 wood album. I added additional pages by adhering 4x6 pieces of patterned paper together.

Besides the Pride collection, I added gold star washi tape, gold star sequins, doilies (inspired by the Assemble paper), and wood veneer stars. I loved how easy the papers were to mix and match. I played with  all sorts of combinations as I put each page spread together and usually decided upon pairing a lively pattern with a more subtle pattern. The beautiful texture of the paper allowed me to sand the edges of each page for a soft, white-core finish. My favorite details are the stickers. The tiny word stickers were fun to use as photo captions, and the larger stickers made great embellishments when layered and popped up on dimensional adhesive. I completed the album by spray-painting a pair of binder rings gold and affixing them to my book. Now my family can see all of our memories from that day in one, beautiful place.

Be sure to stop by Tessa's personal blog and say hello, and please let her know we sent you!
