A "Suave" Album in a Cigar Box

It's that time to get creative with Authentique Paper's "Suave" paper collection, which is perfect for us guys out there!  I always look forward to the paper collections for the Spring (including Father's Day) because that's typically the time of the year that the guy/masculine papers are released.  And what better way to create an album than to alter an old wooden cigar box!  I'd had this box laying around for quite awhile and thought that it would be perfect to use with the "Suave" line.

I started this project by taking off the hardware from the wooden box.  With the lid separated, I covered the outside of the box with the "Robust" paper and lined the inside using the "Sociable" paper.  Once covered I re-attached the hardware.  The top cover features a layering piece of "Dashing" with the quote found on the inside cover of the 6x6 Bundle.

The pages to go inside of the cigar box are constructed in the same way as building the pages to make a star book.  From solid navy cardstock, I cut pieces to 4-¼˝ x 9˝ and scored them in half.  I connected the pieces (as shown) to create the pages.  To form the pockets between the pages, do not tape one side of the pages (leaving an opening) and then punch a thumb pull with a circle punch.  This will leave a pocket for tickets and other ephemera you may want to include.  Spray with Fireworks craft spray to add color and sparkle to the pages.  The inner pages were created from the "Suave" collection.  Cut these pieces to 4-¼˝ x 7˝ and score in half before applying adhesive to just the edges of the pages for adhering into the first layer of pages.

Here you can see some ticket stubs and other ephemera that are tucked inside of the pocket pages.  12 x 12 sheets were used for the pages, and the die cut frames around the pictures features the same prints taken from the 6x6 Bundle paper pack.

The "Suave" collection features MANY great embellishment possibilities that were used on these featured pages.  These embellishments are from:

• "Titles and Phrases" cardstock die cuts
• "Circles and Scallops" cardstock die cuts
