Anchors Away!

Anchored is a versatile line of paper that I've had a lot of fun creating with.  Today I'm here to show you a couple of projects that I used this nautical themed paper to complete.

When I saw this boat at a local hobby store, I knew that it was just calling out to be covered with the Anchored paper collection!  I purchased the sail boat (that was painted) and simply decoupaged my Anchored papers onto the boat and trimmed carefully with a craft knife.  I cut the sails off that came with the boat and simply used them as a pattern to create the new sails – a HUGE improvement!  I added some decorative ribbon from May Arts along the bottom edge and stickers from the detail sheet here and there for embellishments.

For those of you who are more apt to create a layout using the Anchored collection, let me walk you through how I created this layout.

I started by spraying the "Pacific" paper with irRESISTible Love Letter Texture Spray just to add some color and texture to the background.

Next I began to add met layering pieces that I die cut using the Spellbinders Nestabilites Card Creator Pearl Effects from "Secure," "Serene," and "Guide" papers.  I edged all of the pieces with Memento Luxe Nautical Blue.

To finish off my main layer pieces, I used the Spellbinders Classic Squares Large die set to cut the square frame from "Cruise" paper and added the small anchor piece die cut from "Still" paper.  The "Keep Calm..." sentiment is from the "Enhancements" cut apart sheet.

And then it was time to embellish with stickers found on the "Details" 12 x 12 sticker sheet.  I also created an anchor that was die cut from Vertigo Tilted from the Spellbinders Anchors Away die and then colored with Memento Luxe Nautical Blue.  There's also some great gold cording (that looks like rope) from May Arts that's around the "Keep Calm" sentiment.
