"Flourish" Mini Cones

Hey everyone, it's Hilary here today with a fun Spring project for you using the "Flourish" collection from Authentique Papers.  I adore little cones, especially as ornaments that hang on a tree, but these little mini's are just about the right size to fill with some jelly beans, a little chocolate bunny or even a peep, (or two), come Easter.

These papers are so Spring-like, with colors sure to make you smile, and creating these sweet little cones, couldn't be easier.

I added a few additional elements to my cones, such as antique buttons, eyelet trim, some felted leaves and silver tinsel rope.

Oh...and a little chunky glitter, because everything is just better glittered!

They hang just beautifully from a small wire hanger, which is just glued inside the cone.

To make the cones, I first die cut mini cones from Brenda Walton's "Faceted Cone" die from Sizzix.

I then rolled up the die, and added a beam of hot glue to the ends to secure it.

I then hot glued the remaining bottom piece on, and voila!  That's it. Now all that's left is a little embellishing.

Using the "Foundation Two" paper, I die cutted some 3-D flowers and rolled them up onto a wooden dowel.  Then glue the bottom.  Drop a white bead down into the center, and it will adhere to the hot glue that's already at the bottom.

Adhere the flower, to die cut felted leaves and a banner sticker, then apply some spray adhesive and sprinkle on a little glitter...then adhere the flowered embellishment to the your cone.

I then glued some eyelet trim and some silver tinsel trim around the top, adhered a small wire hanger and a small antiqued button to the bottom.

I hope you all enjoyed my project today, and I hope these inspire you to create your own mini-cones using this adorable spring "Flourish" collection.
