Happy and Elegant

Hello friends!  Keely here with my latest layout with the lovely "Classique: Elegant" collection.  To me, this collection represents beauty, sophistication, and elegance.  I paired the beautiful patterned papers with handmade blossoms and strings of pearls.

I wanted to give some tips for creating dimensional layouts.  First, paper doesn't have to be flat.  Curl it around pencils to create curved petals. Bend it in waves to create flowing banners. Try adhering only small spots on the paper to allow the rest to flow.  Second, add different dimensional mediums. Try beads, sequins, paint, burlap, felt.  Anything goes. Third, try fussy cutting elements from your patterned paper and layering.  I fussy cut the flower vines from this collection and layered them beneath the handmade flowers.  I used dimensional adhesive to allow them to flow over the banner.  I like how these fussy cuts help create shadows too.

I created these flowers with a Sizzix diecut set and added a circle cut from burlap and self adhesive beads.  I love creating my own accents from my paper collections. They're unique and coordinate perfectly.
