Cozy Winter Fun Gift Card Holders

Today I have a fun tutorial to share with you for creating easy gift card holders using our adorable new Cozy collection.

With the holidays quickly approaching, I know many of us are starting to think about coming up with some quick and easy gift packaging ideas, and these gift card holders are one of my absolute favorites.  They are super quick and easy, and only require a little bit of paper to put together. As a matter of fact, these holders are so small, you can create four of them from a single sheet of 12x12 paper.

They may be small, but don't let these little cuties fool you. The inside is the perfect size for holding gift cards, or even some folded cash if you prefer. And that makes these holders really useful for the holidays, or any other special occasion, too.

Another thing I love about these gift card holders is how easy it is to change out the papers and embellishments to suit whatever theme you may need. I love the Cozy collection for the holidays, and all the winter long.

Here are the steps for creating these simple gift card holders.

For each holder, cut a 3" x 10" piece of Cozy patterned paper. Then along the long side, score at 4" and 8" using a bone folder or scoring tool.

Mark the center along the edge of the smallest end flap. Using a 1 3/8" circle punch, punch a half circle notch out of the edge, centering the punch with the mark on the paper.

Apply strong adhesive on the very edges of the smallest end flap. Be sure to use only a thin line of adhesive to leave enough room in the pocket for the gift card.

Then seal the flap shut to create an inner pocket to hold the gift card.

To embellish the front cover, trim two thin stripes of Cozy patterned paper. My strips are approximately 3/4" and 1/2" wide. Adhere strips to the bottom edge of the cover. Trim away excess. Adhere strips to the inside of the holder, too.

Tie trim all the way around the holder just above the two paper strips, and tie into a simple knot. Keep it a bit loose so that it can be slipped on and off to keep the holder closed. Add a scalloped border sticker from the Details sticker sheet above the trim. Behind that, tuck a snowy hill, die cut using a cloud or hill border die and blue patterned paper.

Affix a round snowflake Details cardstock sticker under the knotted ribbon. Then add another Details sticker to the top of the holder for the sentiment. Lightly color several owls from the 12x12 paper, then fussy cut them out and tuck them behind the hills and snowflake stickers.

Add a few white sequins, and the holders are complete.

Enjoy!
