"Believe" Holiday Serving Tray
It's that time of the year for entertaining, and what better way to add a festive and fun touch to your next gathering than a decoupage project using the "Believe" paper collection? And when you're not serving your guests, this tray also looks fab sitting on the table with some simple decorations as well!
This project is so simple that you could even have the kids create this one! Choose your favorite papers to use – I couldn't settle on just one paper from the "Believe" collection so I decided to mix it up and use the Novelty, Universal, Tidings, Adorn, Innocence and Wonderland papers because they all go together so well. And for the embellishments, don't forget your Components 6˝ x 12˝ paper die cuts.
Start with a blank wood tray that you can find inexpensively at most craft stores. Using Creative Medium as an adhesive, glue “Believe” papers to the tray. Trim where needed and as necessary around edges etc. Highlight edges of tray, paper and embellishments with Memento inks to add depth and to give a slightly antiqued appearance. Seal the covered tray with at least two coats of Creative Medium, and once dry add ribbon to the handles of the tray.
I hope this project gets you inspired to create your own simple yet elegant home decor pieces!
