***********

I received this wonderful collection, Cheerful, for a showcase product at my NSD CatVention. It started talking to me immediately and I knew I had to create an album as well as layouts. I always have pictures left over after I make layouts and I don't like to get rid of them.

According to my best friend, a "few pics" to me means less than 100. Unfortunately, she is right. I decided that I would do an album to house all those leftover pics of our family.  The pictures cover a lot of years with our kids and grand kids. The Cheerful collection is generic enough that it works perfectly. What I love about Cheerful is that it is just that--Cheerful. I made this album with me in mind--no one else. I used it as a sample at the NSD CatVention to show off the gorgeous papers and it was a really BIG mistake - the ladies loved it and kept asking about a class! "Yes, I can make it a class" came out of my mouth as my brain was saying, "you nut-case, you need to figure out what you did before you say you can do a class". And that was so true. But alas, I figured it out!

The album is made from scratch using chipboard, tyvek, envelopes, card stock, some fun ribbon and of course the beautiful Cheerful collection!  I loved the sunflower in this collection; so I free-hand painted the front cover of the album to highlight that detail.
(you can always cover with paper instead of painting the front)

My part-time engineer brain, was fighting my non-stop creative brain trying to figure out how to make the album look like I wanted. I kept mixing up techniques I learned from Lance Anderson in various classes over the years and finally came up with what you see.

The album has 3 sections inside. Each section is made up of 4 envelopes with some card stock flip out accordion additions. There are also pockets from the envelopes that hold more pictures. By adding tag inserts; you can put 2 pictures per tag or journal on one side with the picture on the other side.

The inside front cover has a tall flip out accordion section on the right and a smaller one on the left.  When these two are folded in, they overlap each other to hold them in place.

Don't let this album fool you. This "little" book holds 83+ pictures! It may be small but it is mighty! There are so many options within this book. The photo sections are also larger as I do a lot of close ups when taking pictures. I'm not into itty-bitty books that you have to cut down your photo sections for your pictures. I want to be able to put larger pictures in my albums even if it is small.

It was a fun personal project that ended up as a tutorial all because Authentique came out with this wonderful feel good collection called Cheerful!
