AUGUST CHALLENGE: Home Decor

Hello August! There's a heat wave going on, which makes me long for cool mornings, crisp leaves, apples, pumpkins, and spiced everything. In preparation of my favorite season, Autumn, I created a fantastic wreath using the Bountiful Collection.
The wreath itself is a simple $1 store wreath. I cut a few of the 12x12" sheets from the Bountiful Collection in half and die cut multiple leaves using various dies (Spellbinders, Concord & 9th) in my stash.
By layering the different pieces, I was able to create more interest on the wreath. To add a little more dimension, I doubled some dimensional adhesive and stuck it between the different leaves. Hot glue, or sturdy liquid glue works well to attach the leaves to the wreath.
For another variation of texture, I added a few Petaloo flowers that was in a similar color family.
Inking all of the edges added more interest. And a little play with pattern added more interest. I loved the plaid bow using Bountiful One. There is even a sweet Details sticker popped onto the leaves.
Lastly, I took some ribbons from my stash, including a $1 Spot Target ruler ribbon, and added both a hanging ribbon, and a bow.
For the month of August, I challenge you to create your own piece of Home Decor! Create that wood pallet piece, a mantle-scape, cover some wood pieces, make a banner, a wreath, prep for Thanksgiving or a Harvest party, anything!! Use this creation for something that you want to display somewhere. One lucky participant will get a fantastic prize from Authentique!!
