Scrapbook Layouts Inspired by Sketches

One thing I have loved about Authentique Paper is their amazing patterns. I tend to not use cardstock, opting instead for mixing patterns, large, small, geometric, organic, etc. I love using patterned paper. I also love sketches. One of my long-time favorite sites for finding amazing sketches is PageMaps. Becky Fleck has always had an amazing collection of sketches and designs. I just admire her talent.
For these projects, I used a pair of April PageMaps sketches, and a January CardMaps sketch.
For my first layout, I focused on two photos from a summer jaunt to a local milkshake shack. I loved pairing the bright photo with the EAT wall decor, with the wonderful black and white photograph of my two little girls.
I loved the bright, bold florals that were in Dame Six, and chose to pair those with the gorgeous navy striped paper from Dame Eight. The contrast between the girly florals and geometric stripes is a perfect contrast for my two girls.
For the embellishment areas, I used a combination of the Components from the Dame Collection and the Details stickers. Popping some of these up with dimensional adhesive, made all of the fun sentiments stand out even more.
A little title and a handwritten journal box complete this layout.
The second layout that I have to share also uses a fantastic sketch. The sketch was for an 8.5x11" layout, but I switched that up to a 12x12" layout and used 4x4" photos instead. For this layout I used the Refreshed Collection.
I loved adding a ton of the stickers from the Details stickers sheet. I just popped a few up with some dimensional adhesive to make them more interesting.
Clustering enamel dots and enamel shapes together also made this layout more special.
I loved mixing the blues and pinks of the Refreshed Collection together.  Make sure to use up the washi stickers from the Details sticker sheet. They are just the cutest.
The last project us a fun card using the Frontier Collection. I loved the strong female focus of the Frontier Collection, especially this Annie Oakley quote.
I really like this sketch from the January 2018 CardMaps sketches. I really liked the vertical nature of this sketch.

I started with papers from the 6x6" Bundle. Then I added a few stickers from the Details sticker sheet.
Before I adhered everything together, I inked it all with brown ink. Lastly, I added a die cut border to soften the edges of the wood patterned paper.
If you are ever in a scrapbooking rut, or just need a little bit of inspiration, make sure to check out Becky Fleck's PageMaps website. If this month's sketches don't strike your fancy, there are a ton of archived sketches that are just amazing.
Additional Supplies Used:
enamel dots, dimensional tape, dies, enamel shapes, ink
