Romance Valentine's Cards and Tag
Hello there friends and crafty peeps! I'm a little sad that the Christmas season is over but also a little bit happy because now we get to move on to the next holiday which in my humble opinion is just about as great! I mean all the love and flowers and hearts and treats??? What's not to like? I'm dropping in today with a trio of projects created with the Romance collection.
Oh how I love vintage Valentine's collections! These patterned papers and images are so much fun to create with.
Of course I'm going to be making loads of cards. This one has many of the papers layered and topped with that gorgeous girl image.
Mixing and matching patterns is easy if you vary the scale.
Adding a doily in crisp white helps to give a neutral base for the focal image.
I've added a garden full of flowers here that coordinate perfectly with the collection.
More pattern here in the form of a chevron striped bow.
This next card has more of the pretty papers but the size is 5 x 6 1/2 inches.
I used a circle die to cut the focal image from one of the journal cards.
I chose pink cardstock matting but you could easily use red with this collection and have a gorgeous finished project. This large poofy bow is topped with a second bow of loopy burlap string and tied on with a vintage button. The little love charm is like jewelry for this special holiday card.
You can never have enough flowers so I loaded them on with die cut foliage and glitter hearts tucked in.
I gave the card scraps a go before putting them in the stash box. The paper from the cards is great for tags. I topped it with an image cut from the 6 x 6 paper pad and added a pretty bow and doily.
For a smaller project you can make a big impact with just one flower...providing you layer it over some pretty leaves and glittery accents.
Please enjoy this tutorial on how I created the tag.....
