Happy Valentines Day! I know it's been a while since you've seen me post anything, but I am now recovering from my surgery and getting back in the swing of things! I am so blessed that Authentique allowed me to stay on the team. I really needed a few months off! This is such a special team (family)!

I am so excited to share what I made with the NEW Romance Collection! I love the flowers and barn wood prints in this collection, paired with "tiny prints" and vintage images! So adorable!
I did some dumpster diving in my craft closet and found a few things that were, well, junk really! I re-purposed them to make this sweet Valentine's Day home decor piece! This piece is both pretty and functional! To see more photos, and to read how I made the project, visit my blog: Scraps of Life!

Happy Valentine's Day to all the wonderful Authentique Paper fans out there!  I love this holiday as my mom and dad were married on February 14th, my husband and I were married on February 16th and two of our sons also chose to tie the knot on either side of Valentine's Day.  It's a mushy, romantic celebration...and there's always chocolate to make the day absolutely perfect!

The Romance Collection Kit and 6x6 Paper Bundle are filled with so many gorgeous patterns and images that I just had to make a Valentine's Day Banner!
I'll share detail photos and construction tips on my blog  at Kathy by Design.  Hugs and Happy Valentine's Day to all!

I am simply in love with the Romance collection.  Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holiday as it's full of love and flowers and sweet treats! What's not to like? I'm utilizing the 12 x 12 patterned papers as well as the Elements Die Cut sheet and Red Licorice Spectrum Cardstock for this very Valentiny project.

Daniela created a fabulous mini album using the Romance Collection

I turned a Target Dollar Spot ornament and pieces from the Romance Collection into a fabulous Valentine's wall hanging. You could easily use this as a larger ornament or home decor item. The twine is also detachable, so if you wanted a small stand, that would also work.
The heart is hand cut from a piece of Romance Three. Before it was inked with Distress Oxide inks, I also used a Lawn Fawn Reverse Stitched Scallop Circle Window die in the place where the heart's "heart" would be. This was where I added the interest to this piece.
I layered die cuts from the Elements die cut sheet, as well as various flowers and Pretty Pink Posh Water Droplets. The last detail was to glue a piece of 3/8" Mini Pom Pom Ribbon in White by May Arts

For my Valentine's Day project, I've created a gatefold style mini album with an interlocking heart as the closure.  I've used the 'Romance' collection to create this mini.

This was one of those projects where you have an idea in your head that doesn't quite translate exactly as planned once you start making it. I had to tweak it several times & come up with different designs until I finally got it to work how I wanted.

As you can see, I've left the cover simple since I wanted the heart to be the primary visual element.  I've only added an iridescent rhinestone in the four corners of the mini to add a splash of 'bling' to the cover.  :-)
Mini measures 6" x 6" inches which is ideal for using the 6"x 6" inch paper pad that comes with this collection.  For the most part, my hearts were cut from the 6" x 6" inch pad--I did use a few elements from the 12" x 12" inch papers.  This is a gatefold style mini--so it has two spines; both measuring 3/8" of an inch.

Mini is held closed with two hearts that interlock.  The red glitter washi was put in place to hide the reinforcement that's underneath the hearts.  This was added in order to prevent the hearts from ripping further since both were cut half way up the center in order to create the closure.
The two front covers have pockets that can store small photos, tags and/or journaling.

The mini consists of six heart pages.  Behind each heart page I've created a vertical pocket that can be used to store tags, small pictures, journaling and/or other small mementos.  I've stored several cut aparts & sticker elements from the 'Romance' collection inside the pockets.

Below is a brief video showcasing the mini--it's much easier to show the mini via a video than in pictures.  Enjoy!
Supplies Used: Romance Collection, Romance Elements Card Stock Stickers, Other: Washi Tape, Rhinestones, Glitter Paper
