"Gracious" It's Fall Banner

Hello! As summer winds down, I find myself wanting to decorate my house in fall colors and items. I'm not yet ready for Halloween, so needed a good fall banner to work until October. For this project, I used the new Gracious Collection and a dollar bin wooden banner to create this quick and easy banner.
To start with this banner, I grabbed a wooden banner that I had previously gotten from the Target Dollar Spot bins. Target has these about every season, so whenever I see one, I grab it for later projects.
The banner was almost a perfect fit for a stitched banner die that I use quite frequently.
Once all of the banner pieces were cut from various pieces of the Gracious Collection, I then used another die that I use often to make the rosette-like pieces. You could easily substitute the die with rosettes created by folding paper in fan-like folds and gluing them together.
The letters were some old sticker letters that I have had for years. The burlap on these really made it feel like Autumn. You could also use any other letter stickers that you have, or cut some using a die cut machine or electronic die cutter.
I wanted to use the rich colors from the Gracious Collection to find a good dark red color to set off the letters. For this project, I found that the Maroon Artisan Cardstock was the perfect shade of red for this collection.
To make each of the Gracious banner pieces stand out from one another, each of them were lightly inked on the edges to create some definition between each layer of paper. This is an easy step that can make a huge impact. Once glued down, you can easily see each layer.
Once the banner pieces were put together, I simply restrung each of the banner pieces back onto the twine that came with the banner. If you do find a banner like this one, swap out the string or twine for something that works with your project. Just make sure that it will be able to hold up to the weight of the banner.
I hope that this inspires you to create your own amazingly fall-themed banner!
