Mini Wedding Journal

Hey, Friends! Design Team member, Mitsyana Wright, here!! Today I have a cool tip to share with you all today, a clever way to change up your ephemera card sheets and have you look at them in a new light!

There is no doubt that Authentique's papers are absolutely stunning! And I absolutely love that they include such a great array of ephemera card panels with each collection. I like to cut them apart and use journaling cards or use snippets as accents. And in some cases, you can take these panels and truly customize them. Check out what I did here with this gorgeous panel I trimmed from the Timeless Collection...

Because this Timeless Collection is printed in black and gray tones,  you can practically alter it to suit the color scheme of your choosing.

Translucent inks, like most dye inks, work very well to add color to your papers without covering the print or pattern.

For more detailed images, I like to use my color pencils. I can add multiple layers and blend the colors to add depth and if I make a mistake, most times I can erase it.

In the pictures below, I have before and after shots of a couple card panels I colored from the Timeless Eight 12x12 sheet.

I love how much detail Authentique puts into their images. There was already so much shading in place. I didn't have to guess where to add shadow, they were already there. It really made coloring a breeze. I basically just added color over top. It truly made this mini journal much more personal!

The colored image looks stunning front and center on the journal cover...

I'm still in awe of how beautifully these papers took to coloring. I even used a water brush blending pen to parts of this and the paper held up remarkably well without any buckling or bleeding! Please take note that these papers are in no way designed for water coloring so your personal results may vary from my own.

Here my second card panel adorns the front cover of my journal insert...

I paired all these Timeless Collection papers with pops of yellow and purple... What an unconventional pairing, right?! But hey, IT WORKS!!
