6X6 Fun

Hello everyone! Brenda Smith here. I'm so excited to share with you my first official post on the Authentique blog. I wanted to come up with something unique, so when I came across an illustration of a solar system, I knew what I wanted to do.

I love the Authentique 6x6 paper pads. They are perfect for making cards. However, I am normally a little challenged when it comes to figuring out how to use them on layouts. I challenged myself to almost exclusively using the Uncommon and Blissful 6x6 paper pads for this layout. I did cheat a little bit and used the backside of the Blissful Happiness paper for my background paper and I fussy-cut the flowers from the frontside of the paper. 

I freehanded the triangles around the photo with papers from the Uncommon 6x6 pad. Then I layered the fussy-cut Happiness flowers with paper-punched circles and flowers from the 6x6 pads and the Uncommon Foundations paper, and some brads and buttons from my stash. 

I drew the journal lines at an angle in an attempt to keep the focus drawn in to the photo.

Cardstock: Core'dinations

Buttons: Crate Paper; vintage

Stitched flowers: Sassafras 

Brads: My Mind's Eye
