A Splendid Moment
Like my last project, I decided to scrap a picture that is not my own. I saw an amazing picture of my bestie, her daughter and her niece and I immediately thought of the Splendid collection. This collection is so versatile and can be combined in so many ways. I love that I could pull bits and pieces of the collection together in a way that complements the colors in the picture.
I love how the papers I used all have the same colors as seen in the picture.
I was looking to add a whimsical touch to the layout since it features two adorable little cherubs, so decided to make my own felt flowers. They were super easy to make and I love what they add to the layout. The Icon die cut I used for the title couldn't be more appropriate for this layout. You can't see it all because of the glare in this picture, but it says "pieces of my heart." I used Glossy Accents to pretty it up a bit.
I distressed some of the papers and I used a subtle twine color to stitch the circles onto the page.
I have recently become a fan of banners. They are so easy to create and add another touch of whimsy to the layout. I used my Silhouette to cut them out and then used floss to stitch them down.
As hard as it is to make a layout for someone else, especially using pictures they took themselves, it gives me an amazing feeling knowing that I could enhance the beauty within the picture.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my layout!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love the felt flowers and how you stitched down the banner. And I never thought of just using glossy accents to "paint" onto a die cut piece. It looks fantastic - all of it!
