Just Beachy!

Are you enjoying our "Earth Friendly Friday" segment so far? Our design team is so creative & thrifty! I can't believe we didn't think of this sooner!

Today, I wanted to share a little home decor piece that I made. We have a little store here that I like to call the "junk store." It's not really a thrift store, but more like a second-hand store that gets their items from retail stores. Do you ever wonder where retail stores send their damaged items that might still be functional or their out of season items that didn't sell? Well, now you know!

I found this wooden wreath recently at the "junk store." Like they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." That couldn't be more true! My husband and I really enjoy shopping for items that we can fix up and make beautiful again.

I'm a beachy kind of gal. I would rather be laying on the beach than doing anything else. I love the smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves, and the whole atmosphere around the ocean. I always love to collect shells and bring them home with me. They usually sit on a little stand that I have until I find something to do with them. Well, I decided that they would be perfect added to this pitiful little wreath!

With a little bit of "Fresh," this wreath like new!  I added the beautiful patterned paper to some chipboard banner shapes from Basically Bare, and then added some twine to tie them on the wreath.

Do you have an old wreath laying around that could use some touch ups? Go grab some seashells, some pretty papers from our "Fresh" collection, and you're ready to decorate your home for summer!
