A Fancy "Thinking of You" Card made Easy!
Every once in awhile, the most important thing we can do is to reach out to a friend or loved one. Sometimes just a simple hello is enough to brighten someone's day. And of course, as papercrafters, we all want to say I'm Thinking of You in a beautiful way. Authentique's new "Remembrance" Petite Collection, with its sentiments of sympathy, thoughtfulness, and good memories is the perfect way to let those special people know that they are in our heart.
I absolutely adore the deep color palette and elegant patterns of Remembrance. The gorgeous flowers on the Remembrance 1 paper were the first thing that grabbed my eye, so they became the focal point for my card. I love being able to pull elements directly from my patterned papers to create coordinating accents for my projects, and this collection is perfect for that!
Although my card looks a bit fancy, it really is just a few simple layers of papers.
To get started, cut a 4.25 " x 5.5" panel of Remembrance 2 paper. Cut a thinner panel of the backside of the Remembrance 2 paper and layer it with a panel cut from Remembrance 3 paper. Fussy Cut a cluster of flowers from Remembrance 1 paper and lightly color with chalk pastels and colored pencils. The Thinking of You label was cut from the 12x12 Enhancements Cut Apart Paper.
Adhere lace trim down the right side of the floral panel before adhering it to the card base. Machine stitch the edges of the panel. Affix the flower cluster to the card base using foam adhesive for a bit of dimension.
Tie colored twine around the base of the card and add a decorative button on top of the bow. To ground the sentiment label, add a small strip of patterned paper underneath. I gave the strip a scalloped edge with a border punch. A canvas butterfly sticker finishes everything off.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed!
