Kay Fatula
Greetings fellow crafters! Kay here sharing a layout I've made where I've used the wonderful bright papers from Authentique's Seasons: Summer collection & Hampton Art/Authentique stamps. What a fabulous pairing indeed...I'm a big fan of stamps. So when given the opportunity to work with Hampton Arts stamps, I jumped at the chance!
Here's my son about two weeks ago during one of his 'tummy time' sessions. These papers went along just right with this candid & fun photo of my little guy.
I've used several Hampton Arts stamps on this page--I've used them to further decorate my background & as homemade embellishments.
First my background, here you can see the script stamp from the 'Keep Me Posted' collection. I randomly stamped onto the upper part of my background to add a bit more visual interest. The stamp 'You Are My Sunshine' from the 'Footloose' collection serves as the title to my layout.
I heat embossed the small flower stamp from the 'Grateful Heart' collection with opaque glittered Marcasite embossing powder three times, fussy cut the flowers out & adhered them to the centers of my punched flower bursts.
I loved the sentiment on this stamp from the 'Grateful Heart' collection & felt it could definitely relate to my page. I stamped the image on plain white card stock, cut it out, inked the edges & decorated the corners with a dot of yellow Stickles. For some added dimension, this sentiment was adhered with a couple of pop dots.
The 'Thinking of You' label was made by combining the 'Thinking of You' sentiment from the 'Keep Me Posted' collection & the label from the 'Grateful Heart' collection. I've slightly bent the label upwards in order to give it a bit more dimension.
A close up of the embossed stamped flowers.
The little bird on a branch stamp is from the 'Footloose' collection. I wanted to be able to adhere this little bird anywhere on the page. So I decided to stamp it onto a small scrap of transparency with non-solvent black ink so it doesn't smear. I then cut it out and adhered it with clear dry adhesive.
I hope you all enjoyed this project & that it inspires some of you to use some stamps on your next layout or crafty project!

The base of my project is just a piece of wood. I had a rather large board cut at Lowe's, it is similar to clipboard material, but a little thicker. For around $8, you can get a rather large board cut into whatever sizes that yo want. This particular project is 6x6, but I have several other pieces that I am saving for future projects. I thought this project was a great alternative to the typical picture frame.

When I picked up these stamps I was drawn to the "You Are My Sunshine" sentiment. I immediately grabbed my daughter's pre-school picture from this year and tried to think of how I could incorporate it with the stamp because she is my little sunshine.
When I thought of sunshine & Authentique paper, the Seasons: Summer collection popped into my head first. This was the perfect collection for this project, plus, blue and gold are my daughter's school colors. Though this paper collection is petite, it packs a big punch! You can do so much with it, plus, it works well with the co-branded stamps from Hampton Art!

ReplyDeleteEmily did a great job with her daughter's picture. Thanks for the tip on getting wood cut at Lowe's. My husband had all kinds of tools but now that he's gone I can't get things cut. I have no idea how to use the saws and I'm afraid of them anyway. Now I know where to go to get cuts that I want.
