Hello once again!  Kay here showcasing a Halloween themed mini album made with Authentique's Thrilling Collection in collaboration with Basically Bare & Art Anthology.  Two evenings were dedicated into making this album--I wanted it to have that extra special touch since it's going to be the album that will hold pictures of my son's first Halloween.

This ring chipboard binder by Basically Bare was perfect for such an occasion.  It's very sturdy, thick & best of all since it's a ring binder it's expandable!  You can add several pages or if you're like me who loves dimension--you can add embellishments that will give your pages some dimension.

Let's start with the cover...
The background is primarily part of the Moonlit 12x12 paper from the Thrilling Collection.  I've also cut out an element from the Mystic paper & used items from the Details Sticker page.

Along the border I've used a stencil by the Crafter's Workshop & a combination of black & orange ink to create the dotted border.  Behind my layering you'll see a bit of green popping out in a circular design.  I created this with the use of a secondary stencil by Crafter's Worship called Mod Spirals.

Orange twine by May Arts was randomly placed behind all of my elements.  All flowers except for the bright yellow mulberry ones are by Petaloo.  The bright orange flower seen here was originally an off white color.  I spritzed it with the Colorations spray by Art Anthology to change the color to orange & I highlighted the border of the flower with the Black Leather Jacket Dimensional Paint also by Art Anthology.  Just use a very thin fine brush to achieve this kind of specific detail.
To highlight some of the dots that were stenciled as well as some of the dots that are part of the Moonlit paper I just went over them with a bit of Clear Dust Stickles.
This is the beauty of chipboard--you can punch holes through it!  I used my crop-a-dile to create four holes along the seam of the album.  I then strung several green & orange ribbon through it & a bit of gray tulle.
Since I plan this album to be full of photos & embellishments with dimension I needed something to keep my binder closed.  So I hot glued a bit of black ribbon to the album itself & then placed the paper on top to further secure it.
I've barely started & as you can see I already have some bulky elements in there!
This was my favorite part--decorating the seam of the binder.  I just mixed both the Black Leather Jacket & Frost dimensional paints by Art Anthology in a 'pouncing' motion with two thick paint brushes & then dried it with my heat gun.  The end result was almost a granite looking effect--you can't see it in this photo--but in person there's also a bit of glitter & gleam to it which really adds an even nicer effect!

Now for the inside...I called this a 'pocket' album for a reason.  Basically all the pages are full of pockets!  :-)  Whether it be one or two or more pockets...point is, there are pockets!  I'm very big on journaling & documenting so I needed several places to store my story & thoughts.
I have three types of pages.  I have one that is a composition of both a pocket & a flip page.  In this photo you can see an example of one of these pages.  I have pulled out the journaling tag just a bit out of it's pocket--by the way, the journaling tag is an element that I've cut out from the Forewarn paper.
You turn the page & behind the pocket there's a cover that you flip up revealing another place for a photo & a small pocket.
This page in turns flips out revealing behind it yet another mat for a photo.  So this one page holds at a minimum four photos, plus a large journaling tag & any additional tags or elements you may want to store in the inner smaller pocket.
The second type of page this album has also consists of one small pocket & one flip.  The border seen on the right hand side is a small pocket.
The top smaller square on the left hand side flips over revealing a secondary place for a photo.  Plus you have the base of the page for more photos & elements.
This would be the third type of page.  This one does not have pockets!  Gasp!  It's just corrugated cardboard that I've embellished by randomly painting it with both the Black Leather Jacket & Frost dimensional paint by Art Anthology & then spritzing it with a bit of Colorations.

And there you have it!  One mini album ready to get filled with loads of pictures & journaling for my son's first Halloween!  Enjoy the rest of the week!
