The Journey Awakens the Soul 6x12 canvas

Hi there, it's Eva here today sharing a fun little tutorial using our Natural Collection.  I created a 6 x 12 size canvas, which I had a ton of fun with.  Here is what I did.

And now let me show you how I did it.  First I took my 6 x 12 canvas and gessoed it and adhered my patterned paper to it.  I gessoed the sides a little bit, as I was going for the shabby look.

For my project I used a lot of My Favorite Things products and the first step was to use their Rose Builder Stencil with Golden Light Molding paste.  I added roses to both upper and lower corners.  To speed up the drying process I used my heat gun and it worked perfect.  I have no patience, when I have something in my head...LOL

this is what it looks like once it dries.

Next step was to "color" my flowers.  I chose to work with Tsukineko's Memento and Versamagic inks.  During this process I discovered how much I LOVE Versamagic.  It covered my roses so beautifully as you can see.

Once I was happy with the colors of my flowers, I decided to add a little more interest, and this time I used Authentique's Hampton Arts Stamps.  They made a perfect addition on my canvas as you can see.

Than as you could see on my finished project, I have a lot of flowers on this canvas.  Well, the majority of them started out with flat.  Once again I used quite a few flower dies from My Favorite Things and they were all cutout using the Natural collection papers.

I rolled up my flowers, added some color to them using the inks, just slightly, as I didn't want them to be loud.  I also added some pretty Petaloo Textured flowers.

Here is a full look of the flowers and also added a Tim Holtz Metal Ornate Plate and put a sentiment in the middle of it.  I added some gesso on the metal to age it a little.  The Chicken Wire die is also by My Favorite Things.

And here is another angle of the canvas.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and that it inspires you to create something fun using our Natural Collection!

thanks for the step through - glad to know about molding paste - I am guessing it is just like embossing paste - but I can buy it local?
