Hi everyone, Audrey here! The holidays are quickly approaching, and that means activities like shopping and wrapping are getting well underway at my house. This year, I'm trying to hand craft a lot of my gifts, like this snowman ornament I made from coffee-stained muslin fabric. I decided that with something as cute as this little guy to gift, I shouldn't tuck him away inside a box, but rather let him become part of the whole gift packaging. So I came up with a pouch envelope idea that can hold all sorts of holiday treats and gifties, and is super easy to create using Joyous papers and die cuts and Tombow adhesives, our product partner here on the Authentique blog this week.
With just a few simple folds, you can create a fabulous envelope pouch that looks adorable and is sturdy enough to package a ton of treats, thanks to Authentique's amazing heavy-weight patterned paper. Once you see how easy these are, you can whip out a bunch in no time at all. And best part is, once you learn the basic process, you can change the size to create bigger or smaller envelopes to fit your needs.
Here's all you need to do.
Start with a perfect square of patterned paper. For my envelope, I used an 8" square. Lay the paper down on your workspace, and turn the paper so that the square looks like a diamond, with points going straight up and down. Fold in the two sides of the diamond so that the points overlap slightly in the center, and secure with Tombow Monoadhesive. Fold up the bottom flap so that the corner point extends about 1/2" above the point where the two side corners meet, and secure with Monoadhesive.
Wrap hemp cord around the envelope and tie into a bow.
Punch holes in the ends of several Joyous die cuts and puzzle piece, string with hemp, and tie into the bow for instant gift tags. Using the Tombow Glue Pen, apply adhesive to the center of a Petaloo mesh flower and cover with crystal glitter. Add the flower to the center of the bow.
Then simply fill your envelope with treats and gifts like my snowman, a candy cane, and a fun holiday pick made from a wooden skewer topped with additional Joyous die cuts and stickers.
Enjoy!
