I started with one of those cute hot cocoa packet holders. You could also create this using any manual or electronic die cut machine too.
To start the project, I carefully took apart the packet making sure not to tear anything and removed the ribbon section to save it for later. Then, I ran the entire thing through my Xyron 9" Creative Station.
After I had turned the packaging into a sticker, I attached it to a piece of Bundle 12x12 Patterned paper, then carefully trimmed it out using a kraft knife.
I detached the existing ribbon, and chose one that matched the red in the Cozy Collection.
I trimmed it to the same size, then stapled it into the original ribbon holder. Then slipped that through the hole that was made for the ribbon.
I then used some Double-Sided High Tack 1/2" Tape to close the top of the packaging.
Close the packaging with some more Double-Sided High Tack 1/2" Tape and now the packaging is ready for decoration!
For the decoration, I cut a snowflake (cut file) from the "snow" side of Cozy's Foundation One, then offset the snowflake using the kraft side of Foundation One. To make sure that the snowflake was completely attached, I also ran that through the Xyron 9" Creative Station. Lastly, I popped up the sentiment from the 6x12 Components die cuts with some dimensional adhesive.
I just love the pop of color that the bright red ribbon gives this fun project. And the wonderful knit just makes me want to snuggle up with some hot cocoa and warm socks.
I hope this helps you get a few more of those small items packaged in pretty ways!
