Shaker Card Rattles with Cuddle
Hello! I am super excited to share with you a sweet little tutorial on a fun shaker rattle that could be used as a card or tag, using the lovely new Cuddle Collection by Authentique.
I cut pieces from both the 6x6 Bundle and pieces of 12x12 paper using the 3D Shaker Embellishment: Baby Rattle from the Silhouette Design Store.
Before assembling any of the pieces, I inked the edges with VersaMagic in Sea Breeze.
Cut all of the chipboard out with your Silhouette as well. I used between 6-8 layers of chipboard to get the height that I wanted with the shaker card.
Once the chipboard is all cut out, start by stacking them.
Glue each layer on top of the next. Make sure to keep the pieces straight as they dry.
Add on the back of the shaker card. This is where the 6x6 Bundles are perfect! The sized down patterns are perfect for cardmaking.
To make this complete, I cut an extra to cover the back of the chipboard. In this case, I used the Ivory from the Spectrum Collection.
I used an embossing powder tool to remove the stickiness from any remaining adhesive. This helps the sequins and other embellishments from sticking to the edges and sides of the shaker area.
One of the best parts is picking out the shaker bits. I chose colors that were used in the Cuddle: Boy Collection (aqua, white, green, and dark blue).
Cut a piece of clear acetate to size, and glue that to the chipboard. Making sure that the glue doesn't go into the section that the sequins are in.
Cover the front with the cut pieces of Cuddle: Boy. Then add your embellishments. I switched out the bow in the original cut file for a tuxedo bow from a different cut file.
To complete the rattle, I added a Details sticker from the Cuddle: Boy Collection.
Here are three that I made using both Cuddle: Boy and Cuddle: Girl. By switching up just a few of the elements, you can make an entirely different look for each one.
