A Heroic Banner
Today, Rebecca created this wonderfully, fabulous banner using our Heroic Collection.
I started off with .56 thick chipboard and adhered the “Heroic” paper to the chipboard, then inked up the edges (I used Tim Holtz-Vintage Photo) I then cut the “Constitution paper” into strips and then cut navy paper as well then scored them each at ½ inch. (I saved the top of the constitution paper for paper ribbon streamers on the 1st and 5th banner pieces) then layered and glued down the navy paper to the constitution paper. Then folded back and forth to create the fan/rosette. After that use a glue gun to a smaller base of the chipboard and then glue to the back of the larger chipboard banner piece.
Using my Silhouette I altered and cut out the plane, truck, rosettes and “USA”. I cut out the life cards and then matted them with red, gold and blue glitter paper using a glue gun. Then used gold stacked on the corners of the life cards.
I used a red, white and blue and star ribbon the based the Constitution paper then rolled up the ends and tucked then under and are placed on the 1st and 5th banner piece.
Centerpiece-I soaked the flags in coffee for an hour or so and let them dry completely as this will give an aged look. Make sure that if you’re going to attempt to stain a flag, it the flag must be 100% cotton polyester will not dye.
I then punched holes on both sides of banner pieces then use the navy ribbon to join each one together to create the banner.
