Frontier Country Blessings Folio Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  It's Kathy here with a great little gift idea for Mom.  Authentique's fabulous Frontier Collection is loaded with gorgeous patterns, vintage focal images and more cut apart borders, stamps, and journal cards than I've ever seen packed into one spot.  I spent a delightful crafty afternoon creating this Country Blessings Folio Tutorial to share with you here. Fill it with photos of Mom and her babies or her flower garden, and you'll have created a gift that she will cherish for years to come.

This sweet focal image of mother and child planting together inspired this entire project.  The next thing I knew I was knee deep into creating this 5" x 5.75" interactive folio.  Boy, oh boy did I ever have a good time making this one!

I've used Picket Fence Distress Paint and diluted Walnut Stain to add some mixed media elements to the design.  Each paper layer is backed with dimensionals to add height and volume.  A miniature picket fence, real vintage button and miniature rusty garden tools add loads of  vintage charm.

The interior of the folio consists of a fun double flap element and a ribbon tied accordion pull out page.

I've topped the accordion pull out page with a sweet little gift card wallet.

There's loads of room inside to add sweet treats, a gift card, a monetary gift, tickets, small photos, or other souvenirs as well as a spot to write a personal message.

This is just a sample of what you'll find inside the accordion pull out pages.

I've prepared a YouTube video tutorial that will walk you through all the fun interactive features, then show you step by step how to build the folio base, the flap elements and the accordion pull out feature.  I've left the decorating up to you.  But once you learn how to create the base, you'll be able to use this design with any of your fabulous Authentique papers.
