His and Hers Birthday Card Folios with Party

Hello, Friends!  As a card maker, I seem to create birthday cards more often than any other type of card.  So when Authentique released their fun and festive Party collection, I was immediately excited!  This collection is jam packed with fun retro images, vibrant colors, playful patterns and sassy sentiments.  Best of all, it has images that work great for masculine and feminine cards!   I've worked up a pair of His and Hers Birthday Card Folios to show you just how fun and versatile this collection is.

If these aren't party colors, then I'll eat my pointy little party hat!  Each of these cards measures 5.25" x 7.25".  I scored in an extra fold to make room on the inside for lots of fun party goodies.  Let's take a closer look, shall we?

Let Her Eat Cake Birthday Card Folio with Party

Oh birthday cake!  How I love it!  I fussy cut this pretty cake image from one of the 3" x 4" images in Party Eight.  Then I backed it with dimensionals to give it some lift and make it really stand out.

To take the party up a level, I coated the candle flames, icing and white layers with Diamond Stickles.  Then I sprinkled TuTu Pink Prills over the top layer to look like nonpareils.  The flowers around the bottom of the plate are fussy cut from Party Six, popped up on dimensionals and then arranged around the cake plate. Finally, I wrapped a birthday candle with sparkly ribbon and tucked it into my bow cluster, just for fun.

The sentiment banner is taken from the Party Components sheet.  These punch out die cuts are so much fun to add to a card.  I matted "Blow out the Candles" on hot pink, cyan, and white cardstock, then wove it between my fingers to give it some shape and dimension.

I added a stamped sentiment on the inside of the card, as well as lots of cute stickers from the Party Sticker Sheet.  I just love the little banner stickers!

The large pocket on the bottom has a yummy Birthday Cake Chocolate Bar and a retro style gift card holder.

Adding these two fun elements turns the card into a gift!

Aged to Perfection Masculine Birthday Card with Party

The retro vibe of this collection is just so much fun!   Here's how to put this card front together.
  • I created a 5.25" x 7.25" card base by joining together two 5.25" x 8.5" panels of cardstock.
  • Then I scored on the long side at 7.25" and again at 7.5".  Fold along the scored lines and trim away the overhang.
  • Mat a 5" x 7" panel of the hashtag pattern from Party Three on a slightly larger piece of teal card.  Adhere to the card base.

  • Now cut and mat a 4.25" x 6.25" panel of the plaid pattern from Party Seven.  Add dimensionals to the back side (I use waste chipboard).  Center and adhere.
  • Next, fussy cut around the image from Party One.
  • Score a 1/4" fold on both sides.  Crease along the score lines and fold toward the back side of the paper.
  • Add adhesive to the scored flaps, center over the plaid paper and adhere.  If you sort of push the sides toward the center, the image will round out slightly, adding lots of dimension.
  • Mat "Best Wishes" sentiment from {arty Components.  Back with dimensionals.  Center and adhere at the card base.
  • Fussy cut "Aged to Perfection from Party Seven.  Add dimensionals to the back and adhere behind the focal image.

  • Mat the black border from Party Components, back with dimensionals and adhere.
  • Adhere dimensionals to the back of the party balloons and adhere.
  • Mat the "Let's Party" sticker and adhere to the black border strip.
  • Adhere 3 shirt collar buttons.
  • Add sequins, bow and buttons.

The party continues on the inside of the card.  I've added a gift card holder to the top half.

The large pocket on the bottom holds this fun chocolate wallet.

The retro tag is from the Details sticker sheet, matted on cardstock to make it really POP against the fun confetti paper.

There are enough images in this collection to make more than a dozen cards.  With my family's birthday season closing in, I  know I'll be putting Party to good use!

Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy
