Companions LOVE! With Daniela
Hello Friends! Daniela here with a great quick mini album featuring the DARLING Companions line! I just can't get enough of this cute collection! It's so versatile, that I've used it with Dog friends and Cat friends and people that have both have been tickled! I was at a retreat this past weekend and needed a project for everyone that would challenge them, but not intimidating. It also had to have a little of my flair. I used a premade book and a full 6x6 pad, added a few embellishments, and made some out of the paper, and whalla, you have a 6x6 Mini Album for yourself or a loved one. For those that have Cats, just turn over the above cutouts and use the darling images of Cats! I made the cutouts into a banner for the top of the cover. I picked 3 of my favorite cutouts from the 6x6 sheet, rounded the edges and matted them with coordinating cardstock. I then took some fun twine, along with a metal charm and a wood charm and turned it into a banner. Try it out for yourself!
I thought I would do some simple "triangle pockets" as I call them. These are super cute and interactive, and you can decorate them with cutouts and little bits you might have around. The page on the right is a "flip up". These are great, as they give interaction, room for a photo underneath or journaling and you can decorate the flip, however, you'd like. I love using the cutout sheets Authentique Paper has in its collections. It's like a built-in embellishment sheet. These are perfect to cut out, mat on coordinating cardstock, tie some ribbon or twine on it, add a bling or enamel dot and you'll have a darling embellishment ready for your project.
These kinds of minis are great to do a "two-page layout" style pages as well. Use the same patterned paper behind both pages in the album and decorate the same with photo mats. This gives a great place to put your best photos.
These next two pages are another "triangle pocket" page and then a "flip-out" page. These are another interactive way to be able to decorate and add photos. With this "flip-out", I made a "slide" and then a mini card to slip inside. This could be a sentiment or a memory you might have of your pet. Inside you have more room to journal or place a photo.
I only have dogs, but I couldn't pass up making a cat themed layout. This page on the left is another "slide" with a little handmade card with another cat cut out on it. The page on the right is the full 6x6 page of the cutout. I like lining the insides of my albums with these pages.
I hope you've enjoyed going through some of my Companions Mini Album. If you make one, let me know! I'd love to see it.
