Happy Independence Day, America! My favorite holiday to spend with my extended family has always been the glorious 4th! I have not had the opportunity to be with my family in many years, but I think fondly on those past, halcyon days! I love everything about the 4th, from the flags waving, to the parades, to the backyard BBQ's, to the fireworks! I especially love red, white, and blue!
I wait impatiently each year to see what the NEW Authentique patriotic collection will look like! This year, the Liberty Collection did NOT disappoint! It is a true red, white, and blue collection, with lots of extra imagery to recall America's past days!

I created a 3 3/4" x 5 1/4" x 1 1/2" gift box, complete with a closure band and stunning rosettes!
Inside the gift box is another box! This one has an easel pocket for a tag and gift card, plus a drawer to hold a surprise!
Inside the drawer is a tag mini album, perfect for photos and journaling! To see more photos and a tutorial, check out my blog, Scraps of Life.

Hello there friends and crafty peeps! I make no secret the summer holidays are just about my favorite of the whole year! So many opportunities to show off your patriotism and spend time with family and friends.  Of course the Liberty collection is just about perfect for creating projects celebrating the red, white, and blue! I created a card with loads of paper layers and fun holiday inspired embellishments.
Typically when I create a card I like to choose a larger image from one of the cut apart sheets but I was just smitten with the great little tag from the sticker sheet so to help this smaller image be more of a focal point I stacked it onto a die cut star and doily. A second sticker from the sheet provides the sentiment. It was part of a larger image so I simply clipped off the portion that fit into the design.
The card is finished with pretty coordinating papers layered with die cut foliage and loopy twine bows. From everyone at my house we are wishing you all a happy, healthy, and fun holiday!

The 4th of July is one of our family's favorite holidays!  We celebrate with a big gathering of friends and family, a cookout, swimming, watermelon, corn hole and lots of laughs.  When dusk begins to fall, we all troop over to a local park to enjoy a fireworks display.  This Liberty Waterfall Mini Album Tutorial is a quick and easy make.  If you want to take a break from the summer heat, a group of you could duck inside and create it in an hour or so.
I've used the Liberty Collection Kit and Spectrum Cardstock in Tricycle Red and Glory Blue along with  a host of embellishments to create this star spangled shaker front mini album.  You'll find a complete tutorial and a linked supply list on my blog at Kathy by Design.  I'd like to thank each and every one of you who has served and sacrificed so that my family can celebrate in freedom today.  God Bless You and God Bless the USA!

  1. I just love all 3 of these projects! The papers are AMAZING, and really make the projects. I'm glad that you didn't ask us to choose our favorite, because I love them all, for different reasons. Great job ladies. AND HAVE A WONDERFUL CELEBRATION OF OUR INDEPENDENCE. This is my favorite holiday, I think.
