A 'Confection' Mini Album/Folio

For today's post I have what turned out to be a combination of a mini album & folio--I suppose!?  This project came about one of those 'creative tornados' I fall into sometimes where I just sit down, have an 'idea' or 'vision' in my head and then simply create.  Of course, the end result is never quite what I had originally envisioned, but I suppose that's what makes crafting fun!

Because this was one of those 'creative chaos' creations; I unfortunately do not have a tutorial for this project.  I do apologize for that--but since this was a first & I was creating as I went, I had to stop, throw away then start again several times making it impossible to video tape or document any sort of tutorial.

This project was made with the really cute 'Confection' collection. I absolutely loved this one & have a passionate side for any sort of paper collections involving sweets.  :-). Candies, ice cream, cup cakes, chocolate--you name it, I love it!  So I have to admit, I enjoyed creating this one.

The cover of the page is actually a throwback to a much older 'sweets' themed collection by Authentique.  The collection was 'Sweetness'.  I had originally made a boxed easel card with this cover.  I've since taken that project apart & have reused the cover for this project.

Album measures approximately 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" inches and has a 1" inch spine.  The covers & spine are made with light weight chipboard & the base of the mini is made from 65 lb Kraft card stock.

The butterfly shown on the cover is from my small Etsy shop--The Midnight Kraft Desk.

On the top cover, I've made a pop up card & am storing it within the album in a dimensional box that is adhered to the cover.

The album has several flips & folds which is why it's also kind of a folio as well--but the overall intent of this album was to store photos and/or journaling.

Several of these pages fit a 4" x 6" inch photo with no cropping necessary.

I've created this expanding envelope that can hold several 4" x 6" inch photos--no cropping needed!

There are also several waterfalls and/or folding elements that are meant to store wallet sized photos measuring up to 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" inches.  These photo mats can hold larger photos--but with wallet sized photos, you end up with a nice border showcasing the design paper around the picture.

I've created a couple of 'sliding belts' that keep the waterfall & fold out pages closed.

Below is a video showcasing the album.  This was a difficult project to photograph--the video shows off how this mini works much better.
