A 'Gracious' Be Thankful For...Mini Album

With Thanksgiving around the corner, the idea behind today's project was a mini album where one can document what they're thankful for.  The album has room for photos, journaling & places for writing down thoughts or even for storing a small trinket.

The album was made with the 'Gracious' collection & measures 6" x 3 1/2" inches when closed & has a 5/8" of an inch spine.

The base of the mini is made with 65 lb Kraft card stock & the album is held closed with a string of jute that wraps around a closure made with a brad & an eyelet.

The cover is decorated with a mini acorn spray, a faux acorn & a fabric flower.

The inside of the mini consists of several accordion style pockets, a reverse waterfall, basic pockets and a small match box.

The reverse waterfall is stored on the belly band seen here.  These pockets are meant for storing photos and/or journaling.

This tiny match box only measures 3" x 1" inch. Inside is a leftover piece of Kraft scrap card stock that I've folded accordion style.  The idea behind this little box is for one to write down what you're thankful for.  It can also be used to jot down dates, thoughts, poems, even for storing a tiny trinket or keepsake--really anything that one can use to express what you're thankful for.

I've used the 3" x 4" inch cut-a-parts from the collection as the photo mats for both the waterfall & all of the tags in the album.

There are six accordion pockets for a total of six tags--one tag inside each pocket.

Unfortunately, I do not have a tutorial for this project since it came together rather chaotically!  I knew what I wanted but getting that 'vision' to become a reality was a bumpy ride.  I stopped & started several times.  I'm not 100% happy with the end result either.  When I redo this sort of album, I definitely want more space for including a larger match box.  That's how these sort of projects get finalized...with trial & error & a couple of redo's!
