4 Sheet Challenge June Edition
Hello there friends and Authentique Paper fans! Ginny here with the newest installment of my 4 sheet challenge featuring the June pages of the Calendar Collection. I'm challenging myself to create projects using the 4 sheets with only cardstock and embellishments added. In my October challenge I created 10 A2 sized sweet and simple cards. This time around I'm getting a bit fewer cards but they are full sized and have a lot more of my favorite accents and add ons.
Here's a schneaky peek of all the cards together. Isn't that a grand stack of crafty goodness?
Obviously I'm going to have to lead with a shaker card right? I cut the gorgeous plaid to fit on my card front then used an oval shaped die to remove the center portion creating the perfect window to show off the floral journaling card and coordinating sequins. It's topped with some fussy cut stamps and a double layer of fishtail banner. A few flowers and trim are the perfect finishing touch.
I wanted to use the large journal cut apart for the focal image on this card but I wanted it to be a bit smaller to fit better on this 5 x 6 1/2 inch card front. I trimmed it simply with a scalloped edge rectangle die the stacked on the sentiment, border strip and matching embellishments. Remember the B side to the vintage image cut aparts have additional paper patterns so you'll have lot's to mix and match.
I incorporated a tag and sentiment here and layered them carefully to get the best possible layout showing all the gorgeous details of the cut aparts. All dressed in coordinating trims and flowers .
Consider including banner shapes created with the off cuts when you're assembling your card. This addition helps to take up real estate and you don't have to cut into a new sheet of paper!
I used the gorgeous solid sheet cut to size then run through the die cut machine with an embossing folder to add detail in the background. A few fishtail banner shapes created with off cuts are topped with an image from the cut apart sheet. An offset layout was a good way to make sure not to loose the detail from the embossing.
This card is a little bit sweet and simple. I didn't load it down with allll the trimmings but I did include a tag and sentiment and spacers between the layers for added depth.
Sometimes when creating an A2 sized card it's a challenge to fit in a larger sentiment. For this card I shaped the sentiment so I could tuck a little flowers and leaf underneath.
