Slimline Birthday Cards with the Hooray Collection

I love slimline cards. They are a fun size at 3.5 x 8.5", are easy to create larger images or sentiments, and are easy to mail as they fit in a simple business envelope. Since I was making birthday cards, the Hooray Collection was the perfect fit.

June is a busy month for my family as there are quite a few birthdays, both family and friends. June is also a really busy month, as it's the end of the school year. Slimline cards like these are super easy to pull together, and the Hooray Collection makes these cards a lot of fun.
The first card has a few fussy-cut elements that I cut out from Hooray Seven. I wanted to pull the pink tone from the cake and the ice cream images in Hooray One. The pink paper from the Calendar Collection Solids Paper Pad matches this tone perfectly. I also added some die cuts in the aqua to make the fussy-cut images stand out from the background.

The second card uses the larger banner stickers that spell out "Happy Birthday". Instead of doing the obvious and keeping the card horizontal, I created it vertically, and stacked the H-A-P and the P-Y-Birthday in two banners onto Hooray Six. Adding some more of the Hooray Details stickers made this really fun.
If you haven't yet tried to create a few slimline cards, they are a fun way to add some different styles of cards to your cardmaking repertoire.
