Jennifer Snyder here to share a DIY home decor pumpkin made with the Splendor collection.

DIY Instructions
The pumpkin is Creative Embellishments Wood Home Decor - Large Pumpkin shape. It's a substantially sized wooden piece (11.6"wide X 9.7"high) that comes with a clean smooth surface ready to finish any way to choose.
I used a blending brush with Tim Holtz - Distress Ink in Fossilized Amber to add warmth to the base.
The wood pumpkin makes a great template for covering in patterned paper. Flip the pumpkin shape over and outline with a pencil.
After tracing the paper, I reduced the shape by 1/2inch all around so the wood edges could show.
Next, I die cut three decorative ovals using Spellbinders Picot Petite Ovals from Becca Feeken's Amazing Paper Grace collection. I inked the edges of each die cut to give the decorative edges some definition.
The sunflower oval (Authentique Paper - Splendor Collection - sheet One) will be the center piece of the pumpkin and I want this to be dimensional. To make this pop, I backed the die cut with a rich brown sheet of cardstock and then backed the oval with foam for dimension.
After this step, the fun decorative touches can be added including banners and sentiment words from Authentique Paper - Splendor Collection - Elements sheet, floral berries, raffia and 3D buttons.
The pumpkin has been accented with decorative 3D buttons from Buttons Galore and More; Buttons Galore 3D Buttons - Fall Leaves 4632 and Buttons Galore 3D Buttons- Acorns. These buttons happen to have plastic shanks on the back. They can be cut off quite easily, however often I like to create wire "picks" and use the wire to help secure the button to the project.
Here are a few more images of the finished project.
Thank you for stopping here today. Happy Crafting.
