Grateful Heart Card
Hey. Friends! Cooler weather blew in and it's a sure sign that Fall is quickly approaching and the holidays are right around the bend. And even though many of us are separated from our friends and family, we still many things to be grateful for!
Let your loved ones know you care about them every day and if you can't be together you can still call, video chat, or write to them.
Today, I created this card as a reminder to keep a grateful heart...
I used papers from Authentique's Splendor Collection. The flowers throughout the collection are simply beautiful. I knew I needed to make them the focal point of my card.
I started with a few sheets from Splendor Collection- Splendor One, Splendor Six, and Splendor Elements. This assortment has a beautiful assortment of wildflowers and I really wanted to showcase them.
I wanted to show off as much of the flowers possible so I decided to create a 5"x7". I cut a piece of Kraft Cardstock to 7" x 10" and folded in half to create a 5"x 7" card base. Then, I trimmed the Splendor One sheet down to measure 4 7/8" x 6 7/8" making sure to utilize the huge sunflower illustration.
I added ticketed corners to all for corners with my corner chomper tool. Then attached the sheet onto my 5" x7 " card base using my Xyron Mega Runner.
I found a smaller version of the sunflower of the Splendor 6 sheet and a bunch of yellow daisies on the Splendor Elements sheet. I trimmed them from their individual sheets then fussy cut out them in more detail.
Also on the Splendor Elements sheet I found this lovely sentiment... "Let your hearts be grateful", and trimmed that out as well. Then used my Xyron Mega Runner to attach it not to the front of my card.
I added pieces of foam adhesive behind my sunflower and daisies to add dimension. Then strategically place them onto the card front.
I added a bow made with brown gingham ribbon and topped it with a button.
And here is the finished card...
And here are a few close-ups...
Look at all the details on these flowers... They are AMAZING!!
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card tutorial and you come back to visit us again soon!!
